the hitman
Hi folks I recced a field a few times over the past week and a decent number of pigeons were showing an interest. Today was not ideal conditions but it was my only opportunity so off I went. -4 degrees on my car when I arrived at 8.45am with limited visibility due to fog. I set up with a few flying about desperate to feed. I shot 2 almost straight away and set up the magnet which helped as the ground was white with frost and the fog was not moving. I shot one which fell behind the hedge I was set up in and as I went to retrieve it a flock of 15 or so did a fly past about 20 yards from where I was crouching. I took aim at a pigeon, fired and not only did it drop but 2 more behind also fell, I was able to get a second shot off - so 4 pigeons for 2 shots which doesn’t happen often. I kept picking away for the next 2 hours although I could feel the cold creeping in. I picked up 23 which was pretty good considering the conditions. Shot of the day was a right to left crosser which I paced out at 54 steps from the hide- again this doesn’t happen to me very often. It was so cold that the pigeons on the magnet were starting to freeze in the fog. Edited January 11 by the hitman

Spr1985
Well done, a good report of a good mornings sport! It was certainly a cold and foggy one today, I was not impressed when I set off for dover in the lorry at 04:30 this morning 🤣 I’d have prefered a bit more time in bed and then a day in the hide! bravo on the four for two 👏🏻
Wilts#Dave
A good session under the circumstances, and well done for going and sticking it out! I must admit I’ve had plenty of mornings in the past where I’ve set up in similar conditions and never had a bumper bag, but sometimes when time is limited that’s you only option so better than sitting at home 👍🏼 I’ve yet to get the decoys out this winter, sadly!
