TIGHTCHOKE
From the BBC News Website; "The Metropolitan Police cannot dismiss officers by removing their vetting clearance, the High Court has ruled. Sgt Lino Di Maria launched a legal challenge against the force after he had his vetting removed when sexual assault allegations were made against him. He denies all allegations and has not been charged in connection with them. Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said the ruling had "left policing in a hopeless position" and the force were seeking leave to appeal. London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan said the ruling had "significant implications for the work the Met is now doing to clean up the force". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8r5nrzn4z0o
Vince Green
I can't really see why they want to sack him. Some allegations were made against him and they were investigated. The finding was that there was no case to answer and he was not charged with anything. So where is the problem? What they are saying is just the fact that the unsubstantiated allegation was made would be enough to get rid of him.

old man
Not thinking of this case in particular but just about the vetting process? Surely that's the idea of it, pass some, fail some according to your set criteria?
TIGHTCHOKE
To see the Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley looking like he had lost a fiver and found a penny due to his realisation that he is now unable to sack poorly performing Officers was an eye opener.
