Channel hopping and thought I’d have a look see……

Wow! Barbara Dickson, who I had a bit of a thing for back then. ELO, who I saw in concert at the NEC in Birmingham, the first time they’d played their hometown. Rainbow were the support act! Fabulous! Bumped into Roy Wood in the foyer; he’s 78 now!
Leo Sayer. Bowie.
I was 17 and working as a junior design artist in Dent, near Sedbergh. I was on 25 quid a week and when they cancelled the buses I left, as I hadn’t passed my test at the time, but the boss asked me if I’d  move into digs in Kendal and get a lift with him. I did so, but my digs were 15 quid a week! Mates and me would go to Flops in Carlisle, or the Twisted Wheel, Shepherds Inn or Inn on the Bay at Morecambe over the weekend, where I’d blow my tenner! 😂😳

1977 I saw Blondie play at Strathclyde University students union and 1978 Ian Dury at the Apollo Glasgow the night I met my wife to be. Great memories Scully life was simpler then.

76 was the hottest summer ever, I worked on a hill farm in N Wales. 77 it rained all year due in no small part to the minister for drought, I was 24 and wet

Remember it well. Did my D of E gold in Llanrwst . We were in what we were told was the wettest part of Wales and there’d been no rain for seven wks. A mate was taken back to base with salt deficiency.
I was taking gypsy horses into the river to wash during my lunch break and by the time I went back I was bone dry. It was pretty warm.

The first band I saw live was Mountain at The Rainbow, Finsbury Park in January 1972. So loud but I loved it! Opened my ears to live rock music. Never looked back.

My first gig was Hawkwind, 74

Newcastle City Hall.

Seen loads since.
