In need of a little help, i currently shoot foxes with my 22-250 tikka, and rabbits with a remmy 597 .22, but have just been granted variation for .17hmr. Not to sure which rifle to go for, fairly interested in laminated thumb hole stock, nice trigger and screw cut, thinking savage 92R17, or possible a cz? New. Anyone had any good experiences with an of these or any different rifles? Any suggestions of rifles welcomed.

Plenty out there to choose from. I started with a CZ 17hmr. Usual quality. Bit of a plain jane, get what you pay for. Quality is ok but nothing brilliant . Then got a Savage. Like it but heavy. Now with a Sako quad. It had a few teething problems at first but once the master(Steve Kershaw) did some work on it. It now is a very fine rifle. Best of the three I have owned

It all depends how much you want to spend

No real budget, costs what it costs, pretty set on thumb hole laminated stock and short threaded barrel.

You want it to look nice then ........

CZ

Anshultz

HW60J

The above to my knowledge don't come with a laminate option but are what I would consider ..........I,m guessing you'll go for something American like a Ruger ,Savage or Marlin .

You have chosen well, get an Eric Brooks trigger job done, they are very cheap and the dogs cobs

get the best scope you can afford, now you have saved a packet by buying a CZ please do not scrimp on your glass.

I have heard that JLS make a .17 moderator, but I use a SAK and its fine.

Good luck with it
