Axe
I'm not having a bad day honest , but this just took the biscuit! Having just returned from the bank I began brewing a cuppa for myself and the accounts department, my dear old Mum who shouts down that we have a delivery. I walk out to find an aged Asian standing in the doorway wearing a very loud Parcel Force all weather jacket with the hood up (because its pouring with rain). He has asked my dear mother for help in bringing the delivery in from his lorry. We ask 'why not trolley the items to the door and we can lift them in'. He then sets about explaining that his non-slip tailgate is wet and slippery. Wet it was, slippery it wasn't. The ten items being delivered are the size and shape of a tea chest so must be man handled independently. So without further ado, we set out into the rain to retrieve the delivery. I must point out that I did express to mother that she was to return to the warmth and safety of the office, but like all mums, wouldn't take no for an answer. So there we are myself, mother and the aged Asian. We each grab a box and walk them to the office. Mum fumbles the first in where I then express again to wait there and I'll get the next. Out I go expecting the aged Asian to follow, but no, he decides the confines of my office building is far to warm and inviting to risk slipping on a wet non-slip tailgate in the rain. He also then proceeds to watch as not only I retrieve the remaining boxes, but so to does my defiant to the end mother as well! I make a passing comment loudly and abruptly "are you delivering these"? to which he replies, as I step out for the last one, "theres only one left"! Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a post of racial or religious disgust. I just want to know why couriers whose nature in itself is to delivery goods to your door, do they employ such people? The fact that he was an arrogant aged Asian didn't help but its not the reason I am about to write an official complaint to Parcel Force. Yours absolutely disgusted. Cranfield
If he couldn't deliver them to your door, I would have told him to take them away.
Oly
They are rubbish - I still much prefer Royal Mail. Until only very recently if I wasn't in when Parcel Force came round I would have to do a 50 mile round trip in work hours to collect it!! Thankfully they have recently started leaving parcels at the local sorting office.
BSA Shaun
After he stopped helping he would of got ORDERED to go and get the boxes out, while I made myself and mum a cuppa and watched him drown, cheeky ***
WeihrauchPower
Why did you even bother? I'd of asked him to return... with a sumo wrestler at least!
al4x
Its a **** job axe, believe me its very very diffiult to get anything other than complete muppets to do multidrop work. parcelfarce have also screwed over most of their workforce so don't get much good will. had you refused to help it wouldn't have worried him he'd have just marked it down as a failed delivery, it would then have gone out the next day and if the same happened you'd have had to go and collect them if you wanted them. Guest The Outlaw
They should under thier customer charter/ promise deliver to the door. If it is phsyically impossible or dangerous to do so as a 1 man outfit they should send a 2 man crew. As transport manager for a Courier firm many years ago I used to check weights and volumetric sizes of all the deliveries we were doing daily and crewed the delivery vans accordingly. The problem these days is because all these firms are so competitive they cut costs by single crews all the time. Tony
Axe
It just boils my blood! I wouldn't have minded so much if mun hadn't been involved. But for him to watch a 62 year old women struggling in the rain doing something he should have been doing in the first place...... .....i'd better stop, my keyboards under extreme duress! Axe
I'm thinking he should ask for a Tom Tom or just simply 2 Toms at least the latter would be able to help him unload!
