russuk
Oh well. What a supreme display of defensive tactical boxing that was. You might not like the fella, but that was right from the script. Hatton brave to the end, but I couldn't see him hurting him if the fight went 112 rounds. Ricky. Question! Does Ricky now retire, carry on at light welterweight, or rematch with Mayweather. Personally I don't think he's a true 147lbs fighter, tonight has shown that. I see no reason he can't go on to dominate light-welter for a few more years.
berettaman1
No your right there, This is the second time he has moved up a weight, and found wanting , he should go back down to his usual weight, cos a Welterweight hese not. tulkyuk
Well he was out classed and mayweather was the better fighter
tulkyuk
dont take anything away from haton though - in his class there is no better, but at this weight its not for him
russuk
Hattons comments at ringside... "I'm the best at light welter and I fought the best at welter. I'd rather give praise to my opponent. My pride is hurt more than the punches." Very true words. I'd like to see him go on for a bit at light welterweight. And let no one say he hasn't tried, it takes a massive set of knackers to step up a weight like that and fight the best. Better he did it than finish his career wondering what if, even with a perfect record.

Cranfield
I think Mayweather was a lot "harder" than Hatton's camp thought he was. He rode the early rounds and then settled in to box Hatton. The 9th round was sad to watch and if the fight hadn't ended in the 10th, I think Hatton would have lost by a very large points margin. The good thing is that Hatton never let his fans down, he gave it his best shot, has earned the biggest pay day in his career and can still box at light welterweight if he wants to. tosspot
i have just heard on the radio a punter saying he felt let down by Hatton? he said Hatton promised to win the fight and didn't deliver and therefore wanted a refund!! i can only hope he gave a false name as i can't see him lasting the day intact. shame about the booing of the American anthem, marred what was a heroic night of boxing

dustyfox
As I said earlier Hatton needed to get him early, but mayweather held on and know that hatton will be running out of steam after the fifth round. But I still like hatton and I hope there is a rematch and hatton can win.

He took him apart unpicking him stitch by stitch until bang goodnight vienna. What makes you think he can change a 10 round battering into a Hatton win? We all know now stepping up to the 147 was a bridge now far for Ricky Jonno
dazza
Hatton could fight Mayweather every week and he still wouldn't beat him

Lost Magpie
Some disgraceful refereeing but it was no more than I expected from the yanks who were ******** it in case their golden boy was beaten. In the end though class showed through after Hatton losing his rag about the points deduction
