dustyfox
Anybody watching it on bbc three. They just killed 8 milk fed lambs. Really good it is teaching people where their food comes from. Edited January 31, 2008 by dustyfox
gibby
I watched the one about veal the other night. Very interesting. Told you all the differences between UK veal and European veal and all the different cuts on them. Was sad to hear that only 5% of males are ever reared for the food and the rest are dispatched. They reckon a male calf was worth a fiver to the farmers when it's sold so pointless rearing them. Gibby
BSA Shaun
Agreed, in todays cotton wool society its a good eye opener. Bit of a cock up the electric shock tongs not working

Cranfield
I think these programmes are creating a lot of vegetarians.
Zapp
I think these programmes are creating a lot of vegetarians. I think you're right. These programmes are admirable in their unflinching honesty, but I cant help but think that a very fine tightrope is being trodden and the whole thing could backfire on the meat industry. After all, if someone is idiot enough to delude themselves about the provenance of their meat because the truth is too hard to take, how would they deal with said truth once it is laid out before them in such graphic detail? LEFTY478
never eating lamb ............... Well after you with the mint sauce, old son! Zapp I hope so because it will leave alot of meat for the likes of me an you LOL LOL LOL Free market economics suggested that a 'market chasing a dwindling demand will be depressed', thereby lowering prices. The lower prices will lead to greater take up, which will create greater demand. Which leads inevitably, to greater supply. Win-Win situation. death from below
I guess ignorance really is bliss for the average meat eater  LB What do you mean, I thought meat such as bacon and chops etc were grown on special noony trees growing in the garden of xanadu....I didn't realise that Jemima puddle duck and Porky pig got slaughtered just so that I can enjoy a greasy sarnie
