richie1606
Any one else see the tackle on Eduardo by taylor of Birmingham on Match of the Day. saw it this morning after recording it last night and it's pretty gruesome. When they show the slow motion you see the foot come away from the leg and the bone showing through the sock. Will be very surprised if he plays again. Devon Fox
Dont think it was intentional, just a horrible accident from a stupid tackle. It looked like his foot had come off, it was a gut churner

mr lee
It was a poor tackle but not a nasty malicious one. Horrible scene though and injury. I bet a couple of paracetamols and an early night won't fix that too soon though.
jonno 357
Was a bad break. When you see them in slow mo they look a bit gruesome. Debatable if that tackle has ended his career or not manu Utd Fav to win prem after yesterday according to tabloids this morning Anyone remember David Busst ? Coventry V Man Utd 1996? I thought his leg had come off Cisse Totti Larsson Smith pretty bad ones too. They all recovered and are still playing. fishybarney
That was never a accidental challenge, you don't go in that high with your studs showing, i doubt that Taylor wanted to do any damage but i'm sure that Birmingham like a lot of teams in the premier thought that kicking the **** out of arsenal was the best way to upset them. Unfortunately it has lead to this

BSA Shaun
A terribly timed tackle and awful outcome, but I have seen players walk away from takles that had far more malice, Dirk Kuyts effort a month or so ago for one Good to see Walcott perform Love the way John Terry is brought up, old Mr Elbows himself Edited February 24, 2008 by BSA Shaun

Unfortunately it has lead to this allways thought arsenal were the ones normally kicking lumps out of people, got to be the dirtiest team ive ever watched was a really bad tackle though, and he was carded, dont think it was intentional, hes not a nasty player.imho. fishybarney
I can't imagine that Taylor was intending to brake his leg, but he sure as hell wasn't going for the ball. If his foot was on the floor then it would be bad timed, but that high up was intentional to make his presence known, the out come was alot worse than he expected thats all. BSA Shaun
the dirtiest team ive ever watched You obviously have not seen that many teams then. Norman hunter had trophies of players he had near murdered on his walls at home! Just to confirm, Arsenal are currently 5th in the fair play league so far this season, the bottom 3 are Chelsea Fulham and Blackburn Edited February 24, 2008 by BSA Shaun

Keane planned to cripple him and achieved exactly that. So it was well-timed. And standing over Haaland saying 'Take that you ****' was a nice touch. cleaner4hire
there did nt seem to be any intention to injure when he went in for the tackle, i think it was just clumsy tbh. Ive seem alot worse tackles where you see the players intent is to do as much damage as possible and the outcome hasnt been anywhere near as bad/unfortunate. Bad luck i guess

And kids get killed by speeding drivers when crossing the road and people blow themselves up by leaving the gas on and people get shot when out hunting. Accidents happen. So what. He's broken his leg. Playing sport has risks associated with it and all players accept those. There are far worse challenges in football that people come away from uninjured. Can't see why people are making that big a deal out of it. Cisse and Dave Buust's were far worse. Buust is still in a wheelchair
paul65
I've never seen a worse football injury than that. I've seen others as bad but I can't quite see how one injury where someone's leg is snapped in half with the bone sticking out is less bad than another. I'm not a medical professional though so I defer to any expertise you may have in that area. I suppose when a boxer such as Michael Watson gets brain damaged and never recovers we needn't bother remarking on it because it's part of the risk of the sport and we've seen worse before.
