Who would like to arrange an inter forum meet?

Pigeonwatch v *********** v ********** v anyone else forums.

Does anyone know of a venue that would be suitable?

Sarah,

We had one 3 weeks ago at Drayton Parslow Sporting Clays, (Essex V Bucks).

The Essex boys scraped a very narrow victory, despite some smart *** ringer in the Bucks team shooting a 96 ex 100..!! :):):)

I wouldn't say narrow. I was meaning to ask, didn't that gum chewing lift your head off the stock at all? And also the Bucks guy (aurther69) that hadn't shot for 4 months scored 79. I've got to try that, bit of gum and a lay off... I'd be unbeatable!!

Coming to the return leg Cat?

I'm not too sure about the return leg, following the Drayton Parslow do my Agent's been pestered with umpteen requests for me to go to Beijing in August, but I've told him the only experience of China I want is a good chop suey & prawn crackers from the local Oriental Rice Garden..!!

A couple of the lads ( the Gaylords actually) were saying that the 'top gun's' score was mostly made up of " Send the Dogs Out!!!" chippy kills.

Some ringer called Lionamongthebudgies, something or other!

Of course I think it was just sour apples on their part.

Ahoy there Matey..!!

Shiver me timbers...:)!!

As my old mucker George D. once said after I'd stuffed him in a shoot off......................"Look Cat, this ain't figure skating.....you don't get points for style..!!"

How very true, (I put the odd chipper down to those silly fibre wad jobbies that I was forced to use..!!).

Hi Cat.

What's the point of anything if you don't look good doing it.

I don't mind missing targets if, as I'm walking away, people mutter " But didn't he look good missing!!" I thought that was the whole idea!

Fair play to you Cat, the only other people who have got past the mid 90's at Drayton, have been Micky R, Matt H, & Martin P.

Ps. I was lying about the Gaylords!!

Pirate,

As you probably know, I'm good mates with all of those guys, we've all been proud to shoot for England, and done our time on the circuit, as they say.

You've got a super ground there, and you put on a sensible layout for all of those folks that are coming into the sport and want to improve, so I'd recommend it to anybody, fair prices, good targets and a warm welcome, I hope your ground continues to go forward.

Here here, a nice layout. Prices where great for sure!

P.S. Cat, you sure he meant China and not Chelmsford? You can still get a decent chop suey there.

Pirate, you forgot yourself and M King 97, D Mavier 98 and T Wells 94, P Curling 92 old bean.

Sarah

Naah, I don't even remember shooting a full 100 birder at Drayton, let alone get that many!..... :good:

The other scores don't count either, as they were on practice days, when we always put on dead-easy layouts.....in fact, if they were any easier, you may as well shoot em in the box!....

A few years ago, I organised a friendly game of cricket, Drayton Sporting Clays v the local cricket club.

The idea was to have a bit of fun, then have a return friendly shoot.

All the shooters turned up at the pavilion one summer evening, shorts, Hawaiian shirts, panama hats, you get the picture!

Low and behold, out came the cricket club team, full whites, and looking for blood!

Needless to say, they took every opportunity to give us a firm thrashing, but considering we were all half ******, we didn't give a jot, and had a great time.

The cricket club declined a return match at the shoot, suggesting we would not play our game in the spirit in which it was all agreed :good::lol:

Furthermore, they had taken some umbrage to our jibes regarding their 'friendly' attire on the evening....

Never bothered since!

To Pirate and Catamong,

Get a room will you, you are too loved up for this forum.

Cat,

You and I both know you are too old for a trip to China, perhaps you would be better off coming to Essex for a chow mein.
