bigt1754
My barrels are 28". I use the John Bately aproach to hides with a 'V' at the front. Works well for me. Hope that helps
Si-Bore
I quite like the idea of a longer sight plane for longer shots but am not sure of the target aquisition at closer range with 30" barrels? I currently use 26" s/s which is good for close quater combat but often feel the extra pointability of longer barrels might help on longer shots. I realise its a personal preference thing so I may have to try a few out if i can. Cheers Si
mosa
I use 30" and was struggling at times with open chokes then reduced to 1/2 & 3/4 and started hitting quite a few not sure the reason for this but im sticking with them for a while
triscrx
You shouldn't have any trouble with 30's I even used 32's for a while on my 682 and that was never really an issue. As I keep telling the mrs is 2'' really going to make that much differance?!

Suffolk shooter
I use my 30" barrelled Browning Gold Hunter Semi auto which with its 3.5" chamber is a big gun (52" in length). When I first used it had to get used to not sitting too close to the hide netting as I got it caught a couple of times, but now I don't notice it at all. Edward
I sometimes use 30" on my greener its fine in the hide, but make sure your hides big enough as I have hade many an occation with a 10ft net of getting the barrels stuck in it Edited March 27, 2008 by EdwardtheloneShooter

garyb
I find the 30" cumbersome in a hide, not only does it snag on the net, it's a pain in the backside to open & close. Plus if you are shooting with someone else, you could end up in a situation where guns are pointed at people whilst trying to open or close the action. I tend to take either a 26" or 28" with me now, but a Semi Auto is invaluable for hide work IMO
