How to Camo your rifle stock

Recommended Posts

Well me and my big brother got bored today, so we decided to spray his S200 stock. We went to B&q and got 3 tins of spray paint ( tan, green and brown) then we got to work.

Firstly take the varnish off the stock with something (not sure what gav used) then we practiced on a scabby, old air rifle that was my grandads, grandads gun  just incase it didnt look too good or if something went wrong. So what we did was sprey a base colour first (picture)

Then once you have dont that get some natural foliage or burlap, then spray a colour onto it and its easy when you get the hang of it !! (see pic) (You can also go on the internet to get some designs to sprey on).

Once you have done this once it gets quite easy, it is very effective aswell and only costs about a fiver which is cheap because advantage timber whats 10 times that. Heres some more pics of the finished artical

A clever bit of DIY and all power to you only why do we have this obsession with camo? Is it a fashion thing or a missed opportunity of joining up ‘cause sure as eggs is eggs it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference to the quarry or to our shooting abilities!

Well when you are popping bunnies with a full bodied ghillie on and you have a big brown gunstock poking out the grass it looks suspicious... yes you are right the rabbit doesn't give a flyer about the stock but where i shoot there is a buisy road within 20 yds of the field, and the first thing someone does is phone the police when they see a man with a gun (people that dont have a clue about shooting).

Cheers,

GM
