asap Posted November 6, 2008 Report Share Posted November 6, 2008 my escort will cycle anything i put in it no problem ,have used all types of brands , shot size etc , not a problem , dont over clean it either just now and then give it a strip and clean and it is a working gun and gets lots of use .cant speak highly enough of them but then i suppose they are not all the same . mine must of been a tuesday or wednesday gun and not a friday gun as they would say I have to say mine is exactly the same, it get used every week gets cleaned about every 250 shots and its never jamed and will shoot anything, The only thing i can say is after cleaning i lubricate the piston and slider tube with silicon grease and the next time you strip her down all the burt **** comes off with a wipe with a rag rather than being burnt on i also give the chamber a squirt of good quality gun oil before each use just to stop metal on metal wear Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I replaced it and all was well for another 4 outings when the push bar for the bolt snapped. I took it back. no2 was brand new from swillington it was 3 inch chambered and did not recycle from day one. kept missing 1 out of 10 I tried various types of cart's for 3 weeks and then let them have it back. I have heard all the arguments about escorts in the past. Ive seen lads buy em and having to sell them due to recycling prob's take it back and buy an old beretta 300 series. or browning . I have had all the semi's but stick to my beretta urika. its a cracking bit of kit. I coach using my urika it has had over 14,000 shots through it since february, total repairs 1 pin return spring £6.00 and a new gas piston £40 this gun gets megga stick. and will recycle down to hushpowers. mikee Posted November 29, 2008 Report Share Posted November 29, 2008 a couple of mates of mine bought escorts in 3.5" for wildfowling, they were both little better than useless, constantly jamming and being returned to the shop for repair one was replaced twice and never got any better, one guy now has an extrema 2 and the other a browning gold hunter and i dont think either has ever jammed, i have a gold hunter also, had it since they came out and it has never jammed even with my poor cleaning regime what ever i put through it 65mm 28g lead to 89mm 42g steel. Would NEVER buy another, I ended up swopping mine for a predator 8 mod and a refund. Get a 2nd hand beretta or benelli not an escort. Basically my 3.5" jammed every time when using Fiocchi 28g 67mm 8's, but cycled fine with Layvale Express 30g 65mm 6's. Put it down to spring resistance in the 3.5" and extra umph in the 30g cartridges. As previously posted, I am told you can buy "lighter" springs if you need to use light cartridges for clays.
