jcbruno
just curiouse which semi would you perfer between berreta or benneli, my guess is the benelli stays clean longer as it uses a blow back system if i am correct. must say though i realy like the feel of the berreta urika though
Hodmedod.one
I own a Remington 11-87. It is a superb gun, but it is heavy and a pain to clean. My lamping partner has recently bought a Benelli M2 comfortech. It is a lot lighter than my Remi and fits me really well. I also like the idea of it being easier to keep clean. _Spud_
If i had to go for one or the other it would be the benelli every time, it's inertia driven unlike all other that are gas driven.
JRDS
Do a search, its been done before but at the end of the day try the likely candidates and go with the one you like best. Both will do the job, I prefer the Benelli after having had 3 Beretta semis but that is just personal choice and both are great makes of Semi. Zapp
go with the beneill. i have the new cadoba in 12 bore its some bit of kit....do a google search on dove shooting in Argentina, world record is held by a shooter from the north of ireland using a beneill.. 50,000 fired and just one jam!! he said it was a faulty shell... my shooting mate has the new berreta extrema 2, his heart is broken with it jamming all the time!!! GO WITH THE BENEILL If your mates Urika is jamming then he has a problem gun - get it back to GMK pronto. The only time mine has ever jammed is when I let it get wet on a friday, dried it and shot it on the saturday without cleaning or oiling it. A squirt of .303 and it was back to top form. Mine will cycle everything down to 24g carts no problem. Edited to say b***er - I didnt read your post right. I have no experience with xtremas, but they should be able to handle normal hunting/clay loads. Hi mate, whys inertia better than gas then? Because there isn't a gas bleed off system to get crapped up, the gun stays clean.
_Spud_
Most semi auto’s use the excess gas from the previous fired cartridge to cycle the next cartridge into the chamber, because of this the gas is dirty and can have a powered etc that will settle on the mechanism. The Benelli uses inertia, so it uses the recoil from the previous cartridge to cycle the next load. Because all of the gas goes down the barrel you get less carbon and **** build up in the gun. In theory the recoil reduction is better in the Benelli because of the inertia system it uses. I have a Hatsan Luxano, £395 brand new 3 year warranty, and a friend who has a Benelli around £1,000 I have shot both guns with the same cartridges and I cannot tell much difference between them. My Hatsan will cycle just as fast as the his Benelli, but mine does take a bit longer to clean as it’s gas driven. I do hope that helps. throdgrain
On any thread like this there will always be people simply voting for the gun they own, or used to own. Just read up I'm sure you'll see some For what it's worth though, I'm sure both will do the job well. I own a Benelli M2, and I've fired over 10000 rounds in the last 2 years or so. In that time I've cleaned the barrel every time, but only had the bolt mechanism out once, recently, for cleaning. Other than that I've simply given it a spray with an aerosol cleaner every month or so. In that time I could count the amount of jams I've had literally on one hand. It really is a very very reliable, well made gun. A couple of my mates own Berettas, and they like them as well, Im sure the 391 is a fine gun, but I certainly wouldnt swap my M2 for one of them
deer stalker
berreta xtrema2 now that is a gun the you can be proud to own. i have one and i have put a min of 5000 round through it and it has never gone wrong
neil smith
One simple truth is that Beretta own Benelli, clearly Beretta saw the Benelli as a serious threat in the market place with its superior design & so bought the company when they had the chance. Ask anyone who has owned a Benelli M2 if they would ever sell it, there arn't many who would. The gun trade websites are full of Beretta's for sale but Benelli's are harder to find, I wonder why ? luckytrigger
On the basis of having owned a remington 100, a urika al391 and now a benelli m2 comfortec i would vote for the benelli everytime. Its much easier to clean and the blueing doesnt mark as easily.
