Maiden22
I am in Yorkshire (not native, but tolerably assimiliated) and nobody has mentioned anything about this much-vaunted "Yorkshire Day". As Bob says, absolute nonsense. In fact, nonsense on stilts. A day for bloody everything these days, drives me round the bend. Having said that, fantastic rhubarb http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/mostof_forcedrhubarb.shtml . Scroll down to the bottom for a recipe involving pigeon. Dunkield
As long as they stop moaning, and stop dripping on about how 'proud' they are for 24 hours, it's all fine be me
Chard
happy day yorkies CHARD up yours you lancashire bumboy :( :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Did you see that? A totally unprovoked attack from a Geordie two-hat I was just sat here feeding my face, and this torrent of abuse pours out of my screen. On Yorkshire Day as well Bring back the War of the Roses. I'll have one of those purple ******** with the hazel nuts in

Jeez, what's wrong with you people, it's a spelling mistake, it should read "The surprise County", as in they are surprised that anybody over 3 years of age stays there. Yorkshire day?? What's that all about then? What next, Norfolk night? Merseyside morning? Ayrshire afternoon? Suffolk second? I beleive it happens every Friday Bob. :o :( Well, it's got all the makings of an "Essex evening" at Bisley tonight, if the amount of beer being discussed is anything to go by. Axe
Its just a shame you lot kill them with sparklers. Proper Ale shouldn't have a head on it
BSA Shaun
I agree Timothy Taylor is a good ale, but so are many others - Summer lightning, HSB and they are nowhere near Yorkshire! However the best is brewed in Dublin
bob300w
Its just a shame you lot kill them with sparklers. Proper Ale shouldn't have a head on it I seem to remember an exceptionally good real ale from down your way, when working there many years ago, it was 'Gales'. Does this brewery still exist, or have they been taken over by one of the multies?

JonnyR
As a Yorkshireman living in Wiltshire, it is my expert opinion that you can't beat a good pint of Thatchers Gold...cheers. Have a good Friday everyone - I am off to the Dog trainer (bl**dy cocker spaniels) and then to the cut rape field. Jonny.
