utrinqueparatus
Anyone know where i can get cheap decoys ( crows, maggies and pigeons ) ? I had some serious luck with a dead crow setup as a deek last week on my shoot. Cheers
Cranfield
Put decoys into Google and shop around. Shootwarehouse UK has an advertisement at the top of the page, click on there and have a look at their range. Don't forget, cheapest may not be best, there are some 'orrible plastic decoys out there. Highlander
A decoy that costs you £1 might get you a bird; a decoy that costs you £10 might get you 100 birds. Which would you rather pay for??? Cheap is very rarely the best!
utrinqueparatus
I forgot to mention im an airgunner, so one bird at a time will do and short of cash at the mo so thats why im looking for a cheap deek just for now and later i can upgrade
Cranfield
Your best bet would be to put any pigeons you shoot in the freezer and use them as decoys, especially if you are going for short periods. During the colder months a dead bird from the freezer will last quite a few sessions.
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
One good deek for a starter, cut breast meat off shot birds & out in freezer in the position you want & use that or them as deeks. For crows the same, one good deek by some bait then use frozen shot birds another day.

Cheap is very rarely the best! I would get 10 of the cheap ones if that was the case hehehe (I know what you meant, I just thought it was funny how ten of the £1 ones would get you '100 birds' in your example) Jon! Billy.
If you're after crows, try looking for an owl decoy. They hate owls and will try and attack them, especially if you stick a dead crow or rabbit under it! Try shoot warehouse, but I usually try ebay for cheeky cheap auctions, not 'buy it now' as they're normally the same price as shops. Funnily enough I sold loads of decoys on Ebay a few years ago and then about a week later, got a phone call and ended up with a load of land to shoot on, so I had to buy it all back again! As said above though, you do get what you pay for! Oh actually, the Shooting Times for this month has got a double page spread on a company who are getting rid of loads of cheap stock - full body pigeons for a couple of quid I think! All the best, Will
