MM
Two things I don't understand...a) 'have you called and let us know you are here?'…that's NOT a legal requirement and most of the time they aren't really interested even if you do so why ask, why turn up out of the blue in the first place? Did you ask? 'The sgc and fac are photocopies! to my reply I wish they would train you guys….they are indeed the originals as if they were copies they would say “FRAUD†at the bottom'. How's that work then You copy your certs and what write FRAUD across them? The originals are little better than copies anyway. In fact I think they are when you photocopy them, they become transparent and the word FRAUD appears on it
palombier
MM is right if you p/copy your licence the word fraud appears across the bottom of the copy in large letters. P
Hunter2
To answer some questions, Most often carry my original SGC and FAC with me,if i have left them behind i have copies in my car and in my gun slip with permission letters and BASC membership card. I normally call herts police control centre before i get to the permission, this evening in question i did not. The boys in blue were doing what they are paid to do, No complaint from me, good couple of guys. Go copy your cert on a modern colour copier. if the cert was issued in the last year it will more than likely say "Fraud" on the copied cert. I even call the control centre when i have finished shooting even if its 1 ,2 or 3 am, and more importantly call my friend "the farmer" to let him know i am down on his land. So many guys dont do either. The boys in blue No they were not called out just doing the rounds, this land has bridal paths access tracks etc some people use it for tipping and of we get people lamping, ferreting, netting that have no permission to be on the land. The real question in the post has been answered. Thanks Derek
Paul223
If I had to phone the nick every time I went shooting the bloody phone bill would be huge and they would get ****** off with me I never tell them its none of their busness Deershooter sod that

bobt
I carry a photocopy of my licence when shooting, and no it doent say fraud on? I assume its some new anti copy device like on a banknote. even if it did say COPY so what? its just to make life easier so they can check with base on their records. in fact mine is obviously a copy as I stick by Basc card on there too. Dave-G
I have photocopies of both fleabag's and my front pages along with our BASC cards, to give to someone who requested them to show to their committee prior to issuing both of us a shooting permission. I have blocked out all the serial numbers of firearms held. The word fraud does not appear on either of them, Fleabags is issued by Devon and Cornwall, mine by Leicestershire force, and it's less than three weeks since mine was printed. I'd guess it only occurs with certain copiers. I have written Copy on them.
Dirty Harry
I dont call the farmer, carry my certs, or let the police know. The certs are in my car and that is never to far away if they want to see it. If I was on duty and saw some shooters going about their business depending on what I was doing I would stop and have a chat with them. Never know what they might tell you. They will know far better than me whats going on in the area. Harry

Another one dreamed up by a FEO trying to built his own little pyramid.
Salop Matt
He was cautioned for reckless spelling EXSELLENT By far not the worst spelling to found on here am sure! But nice to see you having a laugh at someone else’s expense ESP the dyslexic ones amongst us I normally type my post in MS word and spell check it before copying and pasting it, how ever it does become a drag after a while and on this occasion I didn’t do it. My appoligies.
