Changing lamp kit battery

hi, i was wondering if anyone can give any advice re the following.....

my tracer max lamp battery is on its way out, this will usually give 1.5 hrs of light. i spoke to someone about a replacement and was told that they had a 12v 8A/h replacement that should be ok but they didnt have a 12v 7A/h exact match. he was insistent that no harm would come using this replacement.

am i correct in thinking that a 8A/h replacement may mean a few extra minutes of light but at the risk of a slight increase in the bulb blowing?

can anyone say if that is correct....

As said, the batery will be fine and the result will be longer usage. The amp hour figure is the capacity of the battery i.e. how much usage you will get from it. The only downside to a larger capacity battery is the length of time it will take to recharge it i.e. fill it back up.

I use two 6volt 10 amp/hour batteries wire to give 12 volts which give a longer life than a single 12volt 10 amp as you are using two sets of plates instead of one,as my lighteforce lamp only uses 4 amps that gives me 2 1/2 hours of continuous light and worn around the waist you barely know they are there.
