New Year Competition

Deako,

Thats a very nice gesture; thank you.

I'm not over smitten with the cartridge / pellet count thing; it's just a lottery and doesn't encourage people to really think about the sport. (Which doesn't mean I wouldn't enter!)

My suggestion,

Youthful (definition to be decided by the mods) competitors to submit a written piece, plus a pic or two. Describe yourself, and tell of a day out pigeon shooting, say how you were introduced to the sport, what you get out of it, and what your hopes for the future are. I suggest around 500 words. And yes grammar and spelling will count; you've all got Microsoft Word which will do it for you. You're on your word of honour that it's your own work, not blagged off your sister who's a B.A. and teaches journalism!

I'll undertake to submit the winning article to an on-line magazine and to the "Shooting Times" with my recommendation for publication. In addition to Deako's kit, if the standard is good, I'll buy the winner a day with a pigeon pro of my choice.

How about a Guess the object? Teal could take a close up photo of part of an object then you have to work out what it is???

Or... is anyone any good at making cross word puzzles? I used to make the odd one for a reptile magazine but I think it would take me too long to make up a decent shooting one,

In the past, the fairest competition has been where you have to guess (no skill or specialist knowledge required), the number of hits on the PigeonWatch website on a particular day.

A rough indication is given, say between 500 and 3000.

Nearest guess wins the prize.

Only Teal would know the correct answer.

Eugene this is an excellent idea and one which will form the basis of future competitions if this is ok. It is a great gesture from yourself. For this competition however we will simply use the shotgun pellets. If it is okay with you would it be possible to run your kind offer as a seperate competition a few weeks down the line?
