Billy.
I rang Park Street Guns (I feel like I'm naming and shaming) earlier today and asked if they had any 22-250 bullets in stock, which they did. I thought I'd also ask how much they were, because there was a little feeling in me that they would have gone up in price. "They're £28 for 20" My heart sank... When I first bought my rifle, I bought a box for £14.50 - this was less than 5 months ago!!! The following box was £22, which was knocked down to £19 because Park Street wouldn't believe me that I got the last box for £14.50! I know that the better bullets will always cost more, but charging £1.40 a shot is over the top. I thought metal prices were down and fuel costs, so why are we getting hit with this. The Americans must roll about in basements full of cheap ammunition that has probably travelled the same distance as the stuff we get!
Newsportshooter
From experience Park Street Guns are good with their prices and their customer focus is second to none. The price of ammo has gone up.... that seems to be a generic sentence stated whenever we buy recently. The fact of the matter is the economy is ****** and that is pushing up prices. All you can do is shop around and get the best deals you can. As ususal hindsight is 20/20 - maybe you should have stocked up when you first bought the gun.... Maybe there is a lesson for all of us here.....
Rem223
At that price you should consider reloading. Maybe go in with someone else in your situation to offset the start up costs. I reckon you could drop loading costs for .22-250 to under 50p a round assuming 5 reloads per case.
Vince Green
Henry Kranks sell PP .22-250 for £50 per hundred. I have not tried their .22-250 but the 6.5mm stuff is good. If you are buying imported American ammo the prices will always be a lot more. I have found Park Street Guns to be dear in the past but I haven't been there in ages. I always go to Joe in Cat Hill. You could consider reloading but .22-250 is not a beginners cartridge. Where are you?
Salop Matt
So how about Rimfire costs ? Has the price of .22lr ammo and .17HMR risen much this year ?

Hunter2
PSG have always been good to me,however i was in a RFD in Baldock herts recently and was informed that everything is going up at least 5% and the suppliers are keeping the prices high. al4x
have to say I've found the service a bit lacking in Park Street so it was nice when Stutleys opened in Baldock, prices are about average but usually cheaper than park street and the service is a lot better. As for metal prices making that much difference then they're having a laugh the metal constituents of a bullet would cost peanuts and its just an excuse to up prices and try and increase the profit margin Edited December 9, 2008 by al4x
dodeer
Most ammo will be going up 6-10% by the 1st Jan
Vince Green
The fall in the pound will hurt ammo prices. Virtually all ammo and components come in from abroad and will be 25% to 30% dearer as a result. My advise to you is stock up now if you can. buchangun
I pay £ 12 for 20 x .243 100grain PPU - not as posh as some of the American brands but they work well in my rifle ( CZ 550) - and I gues that a Serbian round in a Czech made gun kind of makes sense! I got offered some PPU rounds - 22-250 x 20 for £12, which I thought was amazing. Glad to hear they work well as I wanted to know if they were worth buying. Soulboy
We import parts and machines from both the States and Italy, pound has fallen 16% against the dollar and 11% against the euro - in the last three months. We are reckoning on about 25-30% increases early next year, probably slipped in as 2 X 12.5% increases. Don't know about you but i'm stocking up now.
