Peter De La Mare
The Essex Masters between 14th and 19th April should be a nice warm up for the English Open.
paulos
Not sure I'd be keen on the Essex Masters...If what I have read on here is anything to go by, people from Essex are a funny bunch who aren't to be trusted

Catamong
Not sure I'd be keen on the Essex Masters...If what I have read on here is anything to go by, people from Essex are a funny bunch who aren't to be trusted No disrespect or offence intended of course, (mods take note), but it's probably the only "proper" shoot that the Essex boys shoot all year, and that shows in their scores, with no hampers or turkeys heading back to Harlow or Basildon. As regards those CPSA shoot dates and venues, what a disappointment for Sporting shooters. High Lodge is probably the best of the bunch, but Foresakenheath, well, the CPSA obviously haven't learned much from the entries meltdown at the last World Sporting, it's simply not a good Sporting ground and entries will be lower than hoped for. I will probably shoot it simply because I've not missed a British Open in the last 25 years, but it's not one I'm going to get too excited over. Cat. MC
I know what you mean Cat, The shoot I went to yesterday wasn't a proper shoot, there were no prime donnas there whining because the second clay wasn't in exactly the same place as the first one. Or telling the scorer that they are blind because they didn't see the miniscule piece of orange paint come of the blaze crosser. Instead it was 50 or so people out on a sunday morning enjoying themselves with no involvement from people who think they know better. And it was only £7 for 50 BIRDS so it could possibly match the quality of the more expensive grounds (Saaarrrfdown etc)

It's now chemical **** brewed, I think< somewhere in the midlands.
Mungler
Essex Masters is a nice course and it's in God's very own County. I wouldn't expect to see too many people from up North because aside from passport and currency issues, the shoot will be staged in "colour". For our friends in the North where everything is in black and white, this will be too much of a shock to bear.

paulos
Heathen shandy-swilling savages Amen Passport issues will always be a concern when traveling south unfortunately Colour is also a concern, I can deal with black and white fine, but there is far too much pink down south for my liking I shall be making the brave journey down south to Hampshire however in a few weeks so hopefully I will slip through border control with the minimal fuss
