tosspot
That ESP layout was a stinker Cat (set by Sean they usually are) went round following Faulds and followed by The Weed no pressure there then :( highlight of the day was stand 12 that impossible crossing midi at about 50 yrds where we watched Faulds miss 2 and Digweed miss 2, me and me mate Frank dropped one apiece, went home smiling , just a pity we shot most of the other stands like prize *****
Catamong
Well you both did well to hit 3 out of 4, I didn't touch one of them, Martin also hit 3, Trevor 2 and Cheryl only 1. I would have said it was a good 65 yards out when we shot it, kept giving it more lead and a bit more underneath, but 'twas not to be. :( Cat. leaseone
Cat I told you that you need a Lesson p.s shot 47 at ACs but was not allowed to enter so you would not have had a shoot off to win :(
Catamong
p.s shot 47 at ACs but was not allowed to enter :( That's probably 'cos you had a "Home Advantage" by setting out the layout..?? Bit like Chard at Worsley...?? Cat.
Mungler
Cat are you going to change your name to Cheryl? I think it would suit you.
Catamong
Cat are you going to change your name to Cheryl? I think it would suit you. Yes, I'd be happy to be called Cheryl, provided you'll call yourself "Mr Forgetful Bandit" from Essex..!!!! Cat., (AKA Cheryl.... )
Mungler
Talking of forgetful Cat, I mean Cheryl, did we ever get to the bottom of your lost card(s) as neatly spotted by eagle eyed PDLM?
Catamong
Nope, I'm still waiting for comment from the ground. I've suggested that if they can't find the card then the score can be taken from the master sheet and submitted to the CPSA. Cat.
Peter De La Mare
Going backwards nicely..... 59/100 at the English Open. Only highlights were a good start on the pool shoot 9/10 on stand 1, and a few straights in the actual shoot itself, plus only two trigger freezes. Downsides, a few birds that I could not get anywhere near and general run of bad luck with jumping rabbits and wind affected birds. Stand 9, the trap fell over and the birds were never the same again. So the morning guys shot a much harder targer than the afternoon chaps. Other than that I was highly impressed with the way tha day was run, the standard of the birds and the great setting that High Lodge has. Well worth the 2 hour drive. Catamong
Glad you enjoyed it Pete, my mate shot today and did an 82, a well below par performance for him, apparently Fauldsy went to the last stand (the Tower) for a 94, literally smoked the first 2 pairs out, then missed the final pair clean. Ben H and Mark Marshall both did 91's, but as you say, the birds were badly wind affected and there were quite a few no birds being thrown which generally slowed things up. All the days scores are here: http://www.cpsa.co.uk/results/2009/05/07/e...day-1--thursday You know it's a hard shoot when Micky Rouse can only manage an 80. I'm shooting at 1pm tomorrow, when the winds are forecast to be at their strongest over the whole 4 day event No, this isn't just an MC style excuse in anticipation of a poor performance, it's one of those things you can do nothing about, perhaps it'll blow the birds back in towards the cage..? Cat.
MC
Doesn't much like an excuse Cat, It sounds like at least 2. It must be a hard shoot but you will be OK holding Cheryls hand all the way round.

Chard
At the English Open? That's a good result. He's a bit of a dark horse, that Leaseone bloke. I think he's Georgina Digweed incognito
leaseone
to be honest Peter I should have shoot 85-90 goin on the past 6 weeks scores, aint that right Cheryl no2 It is the first time I have shoot a proper comp without my little poppet to help me (he has gone to uni). I was suprised on the amount of lead some of those targets needed, I had John Dyson with me so he gave us all a few pointers (double whatever you think)
Peter De La Mare
Dirty ********, there's a no coaching rule at the CPSA shoots, especially the big ones!! I know what you mean though. There were 4 birds where I didn't hit even one. Hit most of the crossers off the top of the tower, but sucked large at the driven where I over lead the bottom bird, but got all the minis off the top. Stand 8 L-R crosser kicked my bum quite nicely. leaseone
JD was not Coaching (he set the targets) he was only making sure how much lead to give them out load
Peter De La Mare
Well, if he was only thinking about how much lead it needs out loud and you just happened to be in the vicinity of him, then that's fine !!
Emmsy
well i shot poo. started badly then picked up halfway through missed 10 on the first 3 stands. ended up on 77 nothing really wanted lead except the tower birds, i was infront of 90% of what i missed i can see someone putting a 95 in, if the weather gets calmer, theres nothing horrendous it just keeps chipping away at you. where were you cat? didnt see you or your score on the board??
