Scope mounted lamp glare

I'm having big trouble since including a T8 on my .223 setup, which has rendered the Scope Mounted lightfore 170 useless due to the glare reflecting off the back of the T8 and into the lens.

So far i've tried a mod cover and moving the mounting bracket forwards and backwards along the tube...

I'm sure someone else here has had this problem - what did you go? I don't really want anything which touches the barrel though....

Would buying a generic sunshade help - or am I wasting my hard earned, when something simple works better?

Had the same prob and as a quick fix I fitted a black woolly sock over the mod and back up the barrel, looked pants but works.
