Then l was given a Mk1 Meteor, then a Mk 3 Webley Vulcan - l still have them all, including a recent addition of a Model 27 Diana for the step-son! tosspot
First air rifle properly owned by myself was a Hawk Mk 111 also, at the time meant the world to me me until it fell apart in my hands at a Field Target shoot at Bisley. wingnut
My 1st air rifle was a Sterling HR81 .22 CAL, underlever, bolt action single shot springer, I ordered it after reading an article in a airgun magazine and then had to wait nearly 18 months for it to be delivered, the company i ordered it from sent me a Tasco super moonlighter scope free of charge because i waited patiently for it. I can still remember the serial number off this rifle 1966. I got my local gunsmith to set the scope up using a laser bore sight to make sure it was aligned properly, and when i used it for the first time i can remember thinking i had missed the 25 yd target with all 5 shots, as i could only see one hole through the scope, when i walked down to inspect the target all of the pellets were in a very small tight group which only measured 8mm across. I used this gun to good effect on rats, rabbits, squirrels, I wish i had kept it.
vole
My 1st was a Diana kids gun.Had a brass tube barrel wrapped with pressed steel as I recall. Not rifled.Went onto BSA Airsporter which was too heavy then got my Meteor which was brilliant.Shot alsorts with it.My mates had Relum Tellys and a Tornado but because springs were hard to get, they were always underpowered. amateur
The first air-rifle that I used was given to my older brother and I by the village publican (who had been using it to pot pigeons), over 50 years ago. It was an underlever BSA .177 and so heavy that I could hardly lift it. So I persuaded my parents to buy me a cheap Diana break-barrel - which was, of course nothing like as good as the BSA (but at least I could lift it). Later I got a a rubbishy Gat pistol from one of my schoolmates and soon traded it for a not much better Webley pistol. They all got chopped in for my first motorbike at 16, and I didn't touch a gun again until last year, when I bought the Crosman 2240, followed by the XS78 and the Logun

adymorris
Mine was a BSA mercury in 1980 for £25 - it had a crack in the barrel next to the seal but still shot OK
