Here's my new stalking rifle;

It's a Sako 75 Finnlite in 6.5x55.

The rifle is pretty much standard apart from;

New bolt shroud (no key concept)

Badger bolt ****

Fluted bolt

Slightly shorter barrel than factory standard at 20"

Mod, rings and bolt **** had a lick of duracoat

It's wearing a PES T12 scout and a Swarovski Z6i 2-12x50

Looking forward to getting out after a Roe buck with it!

Who did the work, Moses? The new bolt shroud is interesting.

Hi Baldrick,

Most of the work was done by Neil Mckillop of Mckillop rifles, he's based in Basingstoke and one hell of a gunsmith.

The only thing he didn't do was spiral flute the bolt as this had to be done on another machine with another axis, Colin Flint of CCF firearms organised that.

The new bolt shrouds are availible from GMK, they're not cheap but worth it in my opinion. It comes as the complete firing pin spring and bolt shroud all in.

Looks great Moses! Why did you feel the need to get rid of the old key lock shroud, did you have problems with it, or was it just aesthetic? :blush: Whatever it was you have a lovely rifle :good:

I think, looking at my bank balance, my 75 will have to stay as it is for the time being :blush:

Hi Ft,

It was just aesthetic mate.

I had it done on my .270 and decided to get this one done aswell, same goes for the bolt ****.

After using the tactical one on my .270 it felt weird going back to the standard one.
