DanRM
Hi all, i am getting pretty fed up with my lab jumping up at me and everyone she sees. as soon as i let her out of her pen she jumps up at me. A friend told me to raise my knee as she does it as they dont like it and i have tried this but it doesnt work. i have also tried telling her NO which in most other situations she responds to. And i have also tried ignoring her along with creating a barrier with my arms. But with trying these ways out she has become more persistent and jumps higher. Im also worried about letting her off the lead when other people are about as she will jump up at anyone she sees. How did you stop the jumping?? Thanks
Doggone
Just tread on her back feet, when she has her front feet on you, makes them feel insecure, never known it fail yet. Andy
DanRM
i might find that a bit hard as most of the time her back feet are completely off the ground as well

v-max
Hi you have to get tough with her & you need to antisapate when she is going too & stop her. Do not lift your knee to the dogs chest as you can damage the dogs spine when it goes back or twists/reacts to the knee. I dont allow this from a dog & its importiant to get it in there as a pup & yes some pups need more incuragement. I would use a has or give the dog a firm slap over the bridge of the nose with a down command.
Blackbart
Electric collar..Use it for one day and it will stop it.Every time it jumps give it a press and it will soon learn the jumping produces a jolt.

deeksofdoom
It's a little bit more complicated than just giving the dog a knee into the guts even though I wouldn't rule this out just don't hurt the dog in the process. What you've got is a dominance problem. The dog is jumping up to get to your eye level, intimidate you or just get a reaction. Just turn your back on it and it ignore it until it stops jumping............ when its calmed down and feeling ignored its back to basics and the first thing you should teach the dog is to sit. blackthorn
its not a knee in the guts, its the inside of the knee/thigh to the side of the dog to knock it down

I tell visiters that 4 feet on the floor before saying hello to him but they must say hello to us first him last. Phil
Boromir
Grab her by the scruff of the neck and push her down and say NO BAD, she should sit put her immediately on the lead and walk to heal. Or slap her on the nose, some people may see that harsh but if your dog jumps up an old or young person and knocks them over thats more of a worry. Dave C
I put an open hand out flat and push the end of his nose down just before he is about to jump up and shout down, this is uncomftable for the dog and they soon get the message.
