Had a buzard checking out my crow deeks and eggs so close I could see in his eyes, lovely sight. Had some sheep come over and bite my silosocks so they tore them! they kept coming time and time again and took some serious shouting to get them to leave the field. hobbit
A good few years ago I was sat in a hide on the edge of a wood with my back against a bank when I Heard a rustling behind me. I turned slowly and came almost nose to nose with a stoat. We looked at each other for what seemed like ages but was only a couple of seconds really, he turned and carried on with his buisness totaly fearless and unconcerned, made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. deny essex
Decoy shooting in a hide on the edge of a wood on a quiet day we heared a rustling behind us, we turned and there stood 3 WW2 germans 10 feet from us in all the kit and guns, they had stalked up on us thinking we were the "enemy" in a war enactment scenario that had just started in the wood, not sure who was more suprised us or them, but they didnt let us play as we had real guns Had a hawk land on my rubber dec's and spend 5 minutes hopping from decoy to decoy trying to pull the heads of them , was good to see its antics as the necks stretched on the rubber dec's and the hawk looked and wondered very puzzled. It makes the day when nature throws a curve with its antics and creates a smile.
bigred
I nearly had a pigeon fly towards my decoy's. but it didn't. Typical.
PaulABF
I normally see vast flocks of pigeons - usually dropping into the next fiels and completely ignoring my deeks! On a more serious note, myself and mosa had a stoat come in the back of our hide last weekend, have a quick nosy then disappear.
garyb
Myself and Harfordwmj we're set up the other week... there's a large, well used footpath that runs along one side of the farm - and we we're set up just to one side of it. All day long we'd watched dog walkers and the like coming up and down... Later in the day a couple started walking towards us from ahead, we we're well hidden in the hide... suddenly this "couple" stop about 30 yards from our hide and begin some "heavy petting"... to the extent where he's got one hand up her top on her top bollo(ks, and the other hand down her knickers They finish about 5 or 6 mins later and begin walking even closer to our hide... where we both then stand up and shout "Morning.....!!" The bloke looked like he had died.
malkiserow
I've caught a couple "at it" whilst out shooting but decided discretion was called for and left quietly. The 2 little pink socks waving about in the air were quite funny though
Ozzy Fudd
had a hide set up in a hedge at the top of a steep hill when a chopper (civvy) arrived and started buzzing around the place before coming to a standstill and hovering about 200ish feet out from me, because the hill was so steep he was almost at eye level. dont know who was more surprised in the end, me by the chopper arriving or the pilot when i climbed out of the hide in front of him
Greenhunter
I was right in the middle of trying to call a crow in the other day when a sparrowhawk landed , briefly, on the hide pole next to my head. Nearly did the proverbial, dropped the caller and fell over backwards!

Ozzy Fudd
Did you shout out in a broad westcountry accent "Oi, *** outa me airrrrrrspace" or the old fashioned "oi, *** owf me land" ? no but the pilot did start doing evasive manouvres, but i think having an armed man appear right in front of you might make most people panic a bit... Imperfection
While having a pee behind my hide after setting up-a Roes head popped up in the scrubland and im not sure who was more shocked. Had a Sparrowhawk try to kill one of my decoys. Regulary get a Pheasant trotting infront of my hide when i shoot the same spot who i've affectionally named Percy cos i see him so often. Police chopper came across the fields once very very low to the point i could see the pilot and was **** law that pigeons were comming in at that moment. hill billy
While out decoying i had a red macor parrot fly over the hedge and down the field, and then about a week later decoying the same field had chrlie come bolting out the hedge which i flatterned only to find the reason it bolted was the 20 or so fox hounds following it while doing some roost shooting in an old chalk pit i lofted a couple of dead pigeons up the trees around me and was shocked when one come flying back down to the floor, then on closer inspection found it had a hawk attached to it's back scared the hell out of me though. and while walking round some marsh land had a brown moment when we spotted a black thing climb out of a old fallen down tree and sleek off into the rushes, and it was at a distance of 60ish yards and because we didn't see it very well your mind makes fills in the blanks for you so a fast decision that even though armed with two 12bores we would leave the ducks for another day

Were you shooting anywhere near Cambridge, cos Marshalls service the C130's there. We often see then taking off from the airport from our shooting ground
