Sammy_D
Hey guys. My name is Sam Dickenson. Im 22 and live in Surrey. Work on a arble and cattle farm with over 2000 acers. I am looking to buy my 1st gun soon. Im only looking to shoot Rabbits, Rooks, Crows, Rats and Pigeons. Not sure on the legal list of birds to shoot. Maybe some one can tell me. Im looking at getting a .22 riffle. 22 35 Break Barrel. Its a second hand Air Rifle with a Hawke 3-9 x 40 scope. Made in Germany. In fact heres the link. http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSa...tal+318&Filter I only have a budget of around £200 to spend. With that would like a rifle with scope. I am wondering 1st of all. With this sort of gun will I be able to make a clean shot with a rabbit. Im guessing stright through the chest or head. I have used a friends gun and already shot a number of pigeons and rats. Hope some of you can help me in my purchace and questions. Thanks Sam

Stamford
Hi Sam, Welcome, unfortunatley I cant open the link Failing any of the advice given, someone will want to shoot with you on your permission given its 2000 acres Hey thats funny, I'm from Surrey too They all seem like a good bunch on here, so advice will be forthcoming I'm sure Should be able to cleanly kill your intended quarry with that, but preferably take the head shot Good luck fella

John_R
Hi Sammy from yet another Surrey shooter! As the others have said, the link won't work. That is because it has been shortened somehow, look at the row of dots in the middle, that's not right. Air rifles are great but head shots only, a .22 should be good to 35 yards any day, and if you are good 40 on a still day. If you need help just ask, any of us Surrey chaps would be happy to come along!

spider72
Hi Sammy, welcome to pw (I'm new myself). The Weirauch is a good choice and very capable, as is Air-Arms. As others have said always go for the head shot if possible.
