Nicky T
Looks like there's a decent 150 bird Sporting shoot on at Lakenheath on Sunday 2nd August: http://www.lctc.co.uk/262.html Anyone fancy forming a PW squad for it? Entry looks reasonable at £55/150 birds........
Mungler
Is it a CPSA gig?
Nicky T
I believe that you don't have to be a member of the CPSA to shoot it.....
Catamong
It's probably not Registered, therefore open to anybody, I've not shot Lakenheath for over a year, there's always something more attractive on somewhere else. I've heard that they've expanded the Sporting and they throw some decent targets, John Dyson does most of the course setting there, (he did the Essex Masters), so it should be a good shoot. This is a good warm up event for the British Open Sporting at Lakenheath in early September, I'm shooting that at 9.00am on the first day, (Thursday 3rd), then driving straight down to the World Compact Sporting Champs south of Paris, it'll be a long day..!! Wookie
If I can swing it with Mrs. Wookie and get decent enough to break 70x100 by then, I'll be happy to be considered a reserve for it.

Wookie
You managed to source a chainsaw powered vibrator for him then? I would suggest the traditional brown paper for that.
Catamong
According to the CPSA website, this event has now been cancelled, (along with the first day of the British Open Sporting), I presume the lack of entries has made them think twice about running it. It's a great place if you're a skeet shooter or a Plane Spotter, but as a good Sporting venue, it just doesn't cut the mustard, as they say, a lot of good Sporting shooters simply won't go there nowadays, there are much better grounds to spend your money on. Mungler
These events are just far too much flippin money in this economic climate and to be blunt, Lakenheath was a pretty dull ground IMHO. I just hope that the CPSA can withhold from the infighting and tearing itself apart from the inside out and actually *do* something to assist the sport and shooting grounds. MC
But for them to do that Andy it would mean they would have to admit that they got it wrong. It would be a cold day in hell before that happens.
Mungler
My prediction for the CPSA, some form of implosion and amalgamation with a larger organisation NRA, BASC etc. The CPSA is rotten top to bottom and if the current plans to turn over and out the current board / management succeeds then I think we will see the organisation being "done over" by those on their way out. I believe the expression is "pi55ing in the well".

MC
Oh yes the famous NATSS project. The one where if you do not share the views of the person running the workshops you don't get asked back.
