pegasus bridge
Just picked up some bargain (i think) cartridges from a local clay ground - they are a brand i have never heard of before - sellier and bellot - but i got them for £35 /250!!! so i thought i should try some - have knocked down a few woodies today with them - but all were quite close easy shots over decoys - it will be interesting to test them on some more challenging shots - does anyone else have any experience with these? Cranfield
Sellier & Bellot cartridges have been around for years and were one of the first foreign cartridges (Czechoslovakian) to come to the UK, originally they were in flat packs of 10. They use to have quite a recoil, were a dirty cartridge and had hard firing pins, which caused occasional misfires, but they were cheap and killed birds. Whether todays S&B has got any better I don't know, but you are getting 250 cartridges for a good price at £35.
taffygun
Only knowing of S&B with regards to HMR ammo, then people are raving about them as a fine round and sought after so... if they make their cartridges as well as that then you're getting a bargain
magman
S & B work well Cannot get them round here anymore
John_R
I have 250 of those, got them at the same price as you when I picked up my M2. However, I did not notice they were plaswad and my shoot won't let me use them. I'll probably find somewhere to use them, else I'll move them on. sheene7
I bought 500 28g 8's recently. More recoil than the express and comp X I've being using, and a bit dirtier. But they do the job, and more importantly, they were cheap!
pegasus bridge
put them through the paces today - and they are as good as anything else i have used, put the birds down well; even at the longer ranges 40-50 yards. Also shot a rabbit at the best part of 40 yards , down no probs
Vince Green
I think Sellier and Bellot are great cartridges. I use their .303s all the time and they are good quality. Years ago I used nothing else but S&B shotgun cartridges for pigeons and rabbits and swore by them. You got a bargain. Sellier and Bellot are now owned by CBC (Brazil) who make ammunition under the Magtech brand. Edited August 9, 2009 by Vince Green
