Edward
So I work it out now-Do you notice everyone who owns an Escort always starts off with the saying; 'I could buy 10 Beretta's but dont want to knock one about' or I don't want to drag my grandad's gun through a hedge' Reminds me when I bought my first Porsche.....'All I ever heard is I could buy one of them but don't want to get it scratched' Well I'm still dragging my grandads gun through hedge and mud on the foreshore-To be honest I don't think he would want anything else. Yeah but mines out of proof and has dents in the barrel aswell, and I personally would rather use an escort that a 107 year old gun that is out of proof with dents in the barrels

Ozzy Fudd
Could we arrange a clay competition, Hatsans V Beretta/Brownings? all us pump action owners could come along too - we might lose (unless were scored on reliability, then we win!) but no-one else can make the uber kool chuck-chuck sound we do! :)
Baldrick
By all means, Ean76 - such a competition would be highly entertaining. Team Browning vs Team Yokel. My money is on the peasants getting an absolute hiding. And that's assuming the aforementioned peasants' Escorts survive the day without catastrophic mechanical failure. starlight32
Actually it's "kopi Luwak".... Gixer, You have passed the first exam........Even though you are remaining neutral at present I suspect you are 'good gun' owner- your attention to detail in spoting the deliberate spelling mistake has put you on top. Any man who knows good coffee is truely a man of the arts. Pop along
starlight32
So, let me get this straight, your out on the foreshore and you are SERIOUSLY considering taking a fairly valuable gun out there to get it covered in mud, water, grit, etc??? Come one lads, get a grip! Would you take a Ferrari on an off roading course? I very much doubt it! Its a matter of tools for the job, and in the case of fowling or rough shooting, why buy a decent gun just to trash it? I know a guy whos got an 8 bore Tolley. Does he take it on the foreshore? Does he BO£$%*S! If this were a side-by-side bashing thread would you all be advocating taking your finest Purdey out there with you? Some how, I don`t think so! The guy you know who has the Tolley 8? Lovely gun-I have an Evans hammerless........And yes, for your information mine does go out on the foreshore and I don't bat an eyelid. Owning a treasured gun is just like owning a Rolex-You have to enjoy them which is only had through using them. A nice gun sitting locked in a cabinet is as shameful as leaving a Rolex on the dressing table for special occasions only. Anyway we are going off track.... Lets hear some more for the Hatsan fan club

starlight32
I may have to loosen the demarcation on my coffee mornings to Lanber owners as well. We have to put it before the board though Edited August 20, 2009 by starlight32

Balders, I was just thinking.... After the shoot we could have a sort of 'have a go day on a nice gun' or something along those lines..... Give a little back to the shooting world by letting those less privilaged than ourselves taste a bit of the high life..... What do you think??? starlight32
what about ex benelli but current mossberg owners? Hmmm........ Have to be careful on that one, would much prefer if you was a current Benelli owner. Why don't you pop down the gun shoppy and pick one up- Tell you what I will let you straight in if you do- with no probationary period to serve
Baldrick
I may have to loosen the demarcation on my coffee mornings to Lanber owners as well. We have to put it before the board though Lanber ownership is as much a degrading social disease as Escort ownership is - Mungler will attest to this.
