vole
Did a bit of a deal for this Miroku o/u and am pretty happy with it. Sounds daft but my dog was busting for a pee and in a bit of a rush I failed to notice that the top rib was a bit dented by a few mm in one section. Cant believe I did not notice it as I would have got a few £ off maybe. I paid £595,well a ton or so after trade ins etc. Does anyone identify what model it is please? Also, even though the top rib dent barely is visible in the sight picture,is it worth making an issue of? I am being realistic, the metal work and wood are marked,in keeping with an older Miroku but otherwise it is a fine gun. I expect they might say I damaged the rib but between you and me like all my guns it has been well looked after since bringing it home today. Thanks for any advice Edited September 1, 2009 by vole21
Harnser
Havent got a clue what model it is . But a dent in the rib is nothing and very easy to get out with a wooden wedge . Harnser .
Toombsy
I used to have a Miroku very, very similar to that - it too had a slight bend in the wide rib two thirds of the way up from the action. It had a cut-down stock (about an inch removed) Does the trigger guard run down the pistol grip? Is it engraved on that part of the metalwork? And does it have 28-inch barrels? If so it could well be a 3800 - about 20 years old-ish. You never know - it could be the gun I traded in about a year ago at Derek Lee's??? roughshooter
I would say it is a 3800 SW Regards Graham
Gareth W
I have just brought a 1987 Mirouku sp7000 gd1 and they look very similiar. On mine just forward of the trigger guard in very small engraving is the name and model number, if you look at this post I out up a few days ago I had a reply telling me how to date the gun from the 2 letters in the serial number. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...mp;#entry835996 HTH Gareth
vole
Thanks fellers. It does have engraving on the trigger guard which extends down the pistol grip. It also has fixed chokes and a bead midway down the top rib. Thanks Harnser for the reassurance about the dent.I saw some similar on Guntrader,I dont really mind which model it is as I like it so much but just in case someone asks. ps the barrels are 26in. Cheers.
Fisherman Mike
MK 7000 sport in my opinion :(
BlaserF3
It's very similar to my 1970'ish 3800S Trap Gun are there any letters after the numbers because mine hasn't any. If the barrels are 26" it's probably the Skeet version. http://www.wisnersinc.com/additional_info/...rialnumbers.htm might help.
CharlieT
my money would be an 8000 skeet. If memory serves me right 25-30 years old and a very fine gun indeed. I have one in my cabinet.
Gordon R
It looks like an early eighties 3800 Grade 3, with the teardrop on the stock.
deadeye ive
Has it got 2 letters at the end of its serial number ?
vole
Thanks chaps. I did ask if it was a Skeet gun and they said it was a game model. It does feel very light for something to shoot clays with. It has no letters at the end of the number by the way. vole
Was the 2 beads standard or was it intended for skeet or something? Whatever its' past I am going to see how it does on the crows tomorrow. Thanks for the info!
Gareth W
If there are no letters in the serial number it is pre 1976 http://www.midwestgunworks.com/merchant2/m...ry_Code=C-015-6 I was given this link to determine the date of a Miroku. BlaserF3
Yes you are correct about it being pre 1976.
Hares Ear
I have a Miroku of this specification. I bought it new in 1979. It is a 3800s. The 3800 had an action with only a small panel of engraving. (I have a Trap Gun of this model). The 3800s is as described. The 3800sw had more elaborate engraving still, and a rib as wide as the barrell. Pre 1977 the models No's were 800, 800s and 800sw the actions were a totaly different shape to the one in the photograph, and the engraving was different.
