Paul@Ribchester
Dont think it will work. Gin/Vodka are the best base spirits. Whiskey is too strong a flavour. Maybe try it with one bottle and see what you think. Paul.

webber
Oh dear, I do hope that McF doesn't read this post. He trapsed me around half of the estate on Thursday evening in search of some previously spotted sloes. I picked so many sloes that I am considering registering sloe pickers finger as an industrial disease. McF was muttering all the way home about cheap gin, enjoy! webber

Malinois
You lot have cost me a fortune. After reading the threads on her the other day I have 3 bottles of sloe vodka, 3 bottles of blackberry whiskey, 3 bottles of sloe gin and a gallon of elderberry wine. Between the cost of all the kit, booze and sloe/blackberry pickiers finger I have got enough to go sick. lord_seagrave
It can be done, but I understand that the received wisdom is to make sloe vodka/gin first, and then after 6-12 months filter out the sloes and re-use them in whisky. J@mes
are people picking their sloes now or waiting until next month? I have found a massive crop at a place not accessible to the public, but I keep hearing different things about when to pick them!
