I never said otherwise, but I wanted to know exactly what the finish is :hmm:

What exactly is that finish?

Certainly not blued, seems more like paint and not very durable

Just wondering how I can maintain it, only had it a day and it's scratched to *******.

got the luxano mate not sure what the finish is, but it does seem pretty durable on mine , you do have to be carefull with all finishes though possibly more so with bluing. i use a clean bore silicone cloth for wiping the barrels up on my guns it gives them a good protective coat. just make sure you don't pick up any bits of grit / metal fragments and you should be ok.

It is Parkarizing, obviously non reflective, traditionaly used on military weapons it does not require really any metal finishing to apply as does traditional blueing or blacking and it is much harder wearing, dont look nice but practical and of course cheaper. :hmm:

You must have give it some grief to mark or scratch it ??

"Carplan" Satin matt black aerosol is a close run match all joking aside.

You could'nt do this on a Beretta lol

I know Im going to regret this post

I am so pleased you have at last admitted the boundaries of the Hatsan range. You are dead right you cannot scratch a Beretta, as we keep them in the cabinet until there is laboratory shooting conditions.

So did I.

I have a 20g silver pigeon which I found cumbersome in a hide, shooting pigeons and crows.

The FAC Escort is great: didn't cost a fortune, easy to load in a hide and I don't give much of a stuff if I hit it against the poles.

It's cammo anyway, which does not show up many scratches. It's a 3", 26" barrel, and seems to be happy with any diet of pigeon cartridge.

(And don't you just love the bang,bang,bang...bang,bang if you have to).

Granted, if you look carefully, it is not exactly hand-polished and clearances do look a bit slack, but boy, does it work.

I bought an Escort so that I did'nt care if I scratched it

OOOOHH, luvly, a Datsun thread. Don't worry about the scratches chaps, 'cos it won't go rusty like a B. word gun will, you know, all flaky so you can push your fingers through it.

It's got a Molybdenum barrel, how cool is that? All that hiitech trickery for a few quid. Marvelous, nay, sooperdooper!

Matt black paint? Blooming good idea. Think I will use that to cover up the vice marks on mine.
