Cranfield
I have just been browsing Just Cartridges website prior to ordering some 20 bore and 12 bore cartrdges and I found these. Winchester Supreme XXMAG 20 bore cartridges, plastic wad, 35 gm load, No4 or No6 shot........................................................and £661.75 per 1000. Apart from the price, who would want 35gm loads for a 20 bore ? al4x
if you took it duck shooting at a guess
MC
But then at a guess they would be lead, as you would struggle to get 35 grams of non toxic shot in a 20bore case unless it was about 4" long. So they would be no good for ducks in England.
casts_by_fly
In lead, those would be turkey loads for the 20. That's a 3" ounce and a quarter load. If you are hunting turkey with a 20, that is the load to use. In the US they sell them in boxes of 10 since you're not shooting a ton of them off. They are a great load. I shot the 3" 12 ga version with #6's as my standard turkey load. Patterned great (buffered load). Thanks, Rick
al4x
makes sense, looking on the winchester site seems they are a turkey load so guess a very high pheasant cartridge in that case but hideously expensive

Just as an aside, they are great cartridges in 12bore 53gm and are copperplated and buffered and shoot silly patterns at range !

Ferret Master
However they had none in stock when my Dad went in. Nor the Alphamax 20's that they advertised, nor the HB Pigeon fibre's and no Eley CT's in 8's either. FM
beardy_bradderz
Hideously expensive because they are imported from the US . Transporting heavy explosive cargo (albeit low grade explosives) across the world ain't cheap. Hence why virtually all brands of cart on sale in the UK (with the exception of Rottweil and Rio) are made in the UK.
