subsonicnat Posted October 13, 2016 Report Share Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) Get a STIFF Razor,one sided type.. Wrap the cutting edge with about 1/3rd of the way across from BOTH ENDS.. Gently scrape across the surface of the painted area,with the sharp bit in the middle grazing the surface of the glue..Just be slow and carefull,,if it is very HIGH,Add more tape and gradualy work your way down to the paint,if you feel a bit wary,,MASK Round the raised area with tape as well.. Then reduce as said,,Best of luck,,Take it easy.. Just a thought,,mask off well round the SG the use a FLAT BLOCK,, And do it that way,,when you graze the top of paint you want to be using 600 plus wet and dry,,Steady as you go.. Rupert Posted October 13, 2016 Report Share Posted October 13, 2016 leave it 3 or 4 months for the UV to degrade it, every week or so wipe it over with some solvent, i use upvc window cleaner and some kitchen roll to take off the top layer. This is the way to go in my opinion. i was once told those bait freezing chemicals or plumbing freezing kits make it loose adjesion but could not see how it would work, so nevere tried it. four-wheel-drive Posted October 14, 2016 Report Share Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) I think that I would just leave it using any kind of solvent could leave you with a bigger problem than you have. if it is that important to you to get rid of it then I think that you should spend the money and let a pro paint chap sort it out for you.
