  1. The only time I've seen the like was some 50 years ago and they were living under a Nissan hut on a RAF airfield in Scotland.
  2. Don't forget that the given length of a cartridge refers to its open (fired) length.
  3. I thought that the cartridges were 73mm. Although I KNOW not, with a proof requirement of 850 would these be a 70mm designate as per a 67.5mm 65mm 12 bore?
  4. For some reason for your last post what is now above, 'lets see what......with' did not appear on my screen, but is there now. No, I don't think that it makes sense as for all intents and purposes one bar equates to one kg/square cm
  5. Please don't act on this for the reason given earlier. However, it looks as though you have a albeit slightly undersize 3" chambered gun proofed at 1100 whatsits and also some either slightly oversized or undersized I know not which 70mm or 76mm cartridges which require a gun proofed at 850 different whatsits. My earlier request remains valid, but I believe the 850 would indicate a non magnum proof requirement.
  6. KGs is a weight - can be confusing because - Italy for example - some countries mark the barrels with their weight. Try Kgs/square cm. One bar equals 1.01972 Kgs/ square cm - so, like for like in practice. I'm avoiding answering your original question as I know nothing about 410s not having shot one for some 70 years.
  7. Welcome to PW. No you're not over thinking it as it's a perfectly sensible question. As you bought both at once, you could put them on the spot and ask the shop.
  8. Is that ballistic calculator or Ballistic Coefficient?
  9. I keep a half decent pair of Bushnell stashed in the car for serious looking but for a quick shufti I have half a pair in a dash cubby-hole. I don't know what's current, but back along if you found a decent pair in a charity shop there was usually something wrong with them: so one looked until you found a pair for which the defect did not affect the central focusing or the half secured to it and bought them. A quick hacksaw job and a nice little Zeiss 'monocular' which takes up no room and cost all of a £5er does the job nicely.
  10. Cheers. I asked because I haven't a clue. However, we have a chandlers so that's sorted but what on earth is, "cut it back by 75%, please? Now have a Screwfix as well. Thank you.
  11. What chance is there of that when although there will be a shot size number given on the packaging what size that physically is is anyone's guess.
  12. Some advice, please, Guys. I have just bought a garden bench seat which is flat pack and has already been pressure treated. Before it arrives in a couple of days could anyone kindly advise me on a quality brush on treatment which I would use annually - starting now before assembly - which hopefully will provide another layer of protection.
