Right then following my other thread who would be interested in meeting up for an Informal

clay shooting session at Manchester clay club aka worsley ? there is a poll above to see which date

would be best for anyone who would like to come, I wasn't planning anything special just some friendly

banter a good brew and butty and a few clays, I have enjoyed meeting people this way before and it's

usually a good laugh, it's nice being able to put faces to names as well. You can vote for more than one day

any other suggestions will be welcomed

thanks :good:

Sounds like a good idea , just to put a diferent slant on things , maybe a meeting at , Catton Hall a following time , then North Wales Shooting School would enable more to get involved and so keep the cost of traveling down ?? Just a thought . POW!

Not a bad idea, maybe we should have another poll running along side to determine the most popular venue, if so would you please include Kelbrook for a Sunday. Lupton near Junction 36 M6 would also be good for a Saturday.

I've voted for the first Sunday, simply because I am committed to the shoot on Saturdays, and if we need to cancel due to inclement weather we stand a chance of another stab.

HI Webber , I was only using those as an example, , More it was the cost in time and fuel that often stop folk meeting up .

I personaly have picked up some fine rough shooting by meeting folk at a clay shoot , [ mostly at my ability to miss so many!!! ] POW!

Howdy folks I would love to meet up,and miss a few clays.

I have a side by side which I have shot once so it will be a good excuse to get in some practice as I probably couldn't hit a cow's **** with a banjo at the moment.I have always shot air rifles and an a single barrel 410 so need the practice with th sbs as due to the arrival of our new daughter I have not been out with it much.So you can all feel better in the knowledge whatever happens you won't be as bad as me LOL.

Regards Phil

I'd be up for it :hmm::hmm:

Shock and awe - prepare to be amazed

Manchester's best for me, but I could do Kelbrook I suppose and elsewhere. I could do Manchester on most of those dates, if not all, but if it ends up being somewhere else, that might make it a bit trickier on some days.

I'm sure Yellow Bear would be up for it too, but I think Saturdays might be easier for him ;)

No either day is OK if I know in advance - 10th of Jan could be a bit busy tho as the club comp is on.

This means 11th may be quieter. ;):hmm:

I will do my best to be at Worsley, and will probably bring a couple more PW members with me.

May I suggest that a link be posted to the Worsley web site. Its been many years since my last visit. I can remember M62 and a right turn in Worsley village, but thats it.

It would also be an idea to post an indication of costs involved. Can you negotiate a PW members discount?

One final thought. I recall some time ago on PW some discussion about the Claymate system (which I have no significant problem with). However I recall it being mentioned that Worsley opperate a system of taking possesion of your car keys by way of deposit against the Claymate counter.

Can you please clarify the situation. I certainly shall not be handing over my car keys.

Cost of 100 clays is normally £22. Members discount rate is £20. I can't see them giving a bigger discount than that, unless there's shedloads of shooters, it'll be a numbers thing.

I can give precise directions at some stage, I can't be ***** at the moment :santa:

The Claymate business isn't really much of a drama. They want a reminder to be left for the Claymate box. The thinking is, if you get back to your car and can't get in it, it means you've still got the Claymate box in your pocket. Happens all the time, loads of people walk off with them. If they didn't do something, they wouldn't have any left. People are just too idle to bring them back if they find they've walked off with one.

It's sometimes made out to be a distrust thing, keeping one over you if you don't feel like paying, but it's got more to do with trying to make sure they manage to keep hold of a couple of their Claymate boxes.

The website is here

I see that I've gone and booked a job for Sunday 11th  . Ridiculous, I hardly ever work on Sundays - I'll try and change it. It needs to be done between 11am and 3pm, so I'll have to get rid of it or I won't be there :drinks:

Crumbs Chard it wouldn't be the same without you mate :drinks: anyway I need some help, I will have a word with Andyor David about prices but I wouldn't expect much discount unless there is over 20 of us, As far as the counter box's both me and gail are very well known down there and as such will be expected to be responsible to a degree for the people we take there, Thats how it is and we accept that, we are going to enjoy our selfs so lets

I had a word with Randy Andy this morning and he confirmed that we can have a members discount rate of £20, even for non-members. Any extra discount would be down to numbers, and I think there would have to be a lot :santa:

Hope the weather's better than today  , I got 79 in the pi$$ing rain. Some hard targets there today :drinks:
