  1. I am the same height as you and recently bought a new Browning 525 30". It is only a grade 1, but I think it looks great and within your budget. I paid a tad of £1000. It was a toss up between the Browning and a Miroku, which were pretty much identical, I just preferred the Balance of the Browning. Depends on your body shape, but I would have thought the Browning \ Miroku would fit you better than the Beretta.

    lotty

I heard a statistic the other day, if you buy your lottery tickect on a Tuesday for Saturdays draw, the odds of you dieing before the draw are greater than the odds of you winning the jackpot! Carefull, it could be you!
  3. Typically shoot between 50 and 100 every week at a local shoot. One is a 50 bird that I sometimes do twice, the other is a 70 bird, but never done that twice as it is too much of a rush. Hoping that with the lighter evenings and an auto clay trap the old man and I can get a bit of cheap evening fun in mid week to.

Sorry to hear you project did't work out. Have been there many times myself, but by the sounds of it you have learnt from the experience in more ways the 1, and knowledge can be a valuable thing. Good luck in reclaiming what you can in costs.

    left eye

I am the same as you. I use one of the many fibre optic bead products out there. I have used it since I got back into shooting, but I shoot better now than I did when I was younger with my eye closed or wearing an eye patch. Honestly though, I think the best thing is good gun fit. I find that with my gun now it points were I look, I shoot with the force more than anything else..... I basically centre where I want to shoot in my vision and pull the trigger. Try shooting off your left shoulder, try using the force and also try an optic bead (many placed have ones they loan out for trial purposes). Do a search for eye dominence on this site, there is plenty written about it.
  6. Saw this story a couple of weeks and thought you couldn't have scripted a better response! "That was all the bullets we had".
  7. St, St, Studio Line!
  8. Is it a blank firing Glock? Black with gold engraving and does it make you faint or give you ballache? Actually laughing out loud at this one..... very good!
  9. My uncle got rid of his car about 6 monhts ago. Uses public transport a lot and does not struggle 95% of the time. Often though he asks for lifts to the station etc. He is always really good and wants to pay. I always refuse, but he gave me £30 at chistmas for 3 lifts to the station. He also did away with his mobile phone, but like a car, when you need it, it is so handy. I did away with expensive motors asbout 3 years ago, and now my whole view on cars is do it as cheaply as you can as anything more is just a waste. Perhaps just buy a little Japanese hatchback for emergencies and getting out for a shoot. I would not go diesel unless you are doing the miles to justify it. We went from a 306 Diesel to a Honda HRV petrol and despite being a bigger car, the difference in running costs are minimal.... we do about 10 - 12k a year in it and that is just on the crossover point I think.

    Isuzu Rodeo

My dad has a farm contractor buddy who has one. He loves it and so does my dad. My old man really wanted to chop his SWB trooper commercial in for one, but does so few miles in it, it is not worth it. Edited for spelling.
  11. The poor biker would appear to be beyond the help of your average in car first aid kit. Not sure what I would do in the situation.... with driving like that, I would be afriad to get out my car incase the same thing should happen to me. Plus a strong stomach would be required.
  12. Not sure I dare look at this after the comments. Have had a couple of bikes in my time and was going to get another this year, but decided to get back into shooting as it seemed a lot less likely to kill me (I hope). Bike Safe boys and girls.
  13. Agree with what others have said, all you can do is get out and practice and have some tuition. It was a real hurdle for me at the begining of the year as I had just got back into shooting and when I was younger I would always be having some form of instruction and someone telling me where to shoot. First time out on a proper shoot and I had to figure it out for myself and no one telling me where I had gone wrong if I missed. Get out there and shoot and what others do the same and you will start to learn. Final thing that has also been mentioned is that by the sounds of it the bird you are talking about has started to loose speed an is falling off its flightline. Try and shoot it earlier when it is just moving forward and loosing height.... leave it any longer and you are trying to deal with it sdieways movement also. I am no expert and the guys on here really know their stuff. I am just trying to give you my view as only a few weeks ago I was thinking the same questions to myself.... the answer is practice. I shot 34% on my first outing 5 weeks ago and managed nearly double that at the weekend just gone. No instruction, just practice every week. Good luck.
  14. Watch and a wedding ring. I really like watches, but have to admit they can get so big and clunky, it almost looks a bit stupid. My sisters ex looked like he had a wall clock on his wrist at times. Cannot see the point in spending thousands on a watch for it to look stupid.
  15. Personal preference I think. Many seem to struggle with loopers bit for some reason I don't and find them one of the easier tagets to hit. I pick the bird up just out of the trap and track it, wait for it to reach its highest point in the loop, over take it as it starts to descend, but stay on its path and pull the trigger when the lead feels right. Some like to hit them at the top of the loop, but there were a few loopers that you need welding goggles as the top of the loop was in front of the sun. I know I guy that shoots everying the moment he see's it. He claims it is better to shoot it early than give it a chance to start doing too many things. All the best with them.
  16. In light of the other scores today, mine does not seem so great, but I was very very pleased with my performance today. I shot a 45 ex 70 which is a new personal best for me. This is the second weekend running I have beaten my PB and dare I say it, I could be up in the 60% region consistently...... that will have done it, back the 50% next week!

As Shaggy said, one of the better made super cars. Assuming it is just for as long as the gag lasts, you have to ask yourself: Is it better to of had and lost a Lambo than to have never had one at all.
  18. Yes the internals should be exaclty the same. You would be paying more for a better quality wood and higher standard of engravings.
  19. Unless space is in issue, there is so little difference in cost that I dont think it is worth it. Just my opinion though.
  20. Impressive... never seen anything like this and the wife makes me watch a lot of nature docs!
  21. Not sure a semi auto is any less likely to miss fire than O\U, but I may be incorrect. At the end of the day if the internals are worn or damaged then this will cause a miss fire. Where abouts were you shooting? As for the gun clamp, I only have 1 shotty, and see no need for another at the moment, but still bought a cabinet. It is only 3 gun, but a lot lot safer than a clamp. You may find the FEO will much tougher on the other security at your premises such as windows, doors and alarm, if you choose to use a clamp. P.S. Fill in some of your profile info so we know a bit more about you.
  22. Not so much hobbies, but I like most things mechanical or with an engine. Love doing bits to the car. Have a had a few motorbikes, but hung up my leathers for the time being after seeing a few nasty accidents that put me off. Also interested in electronics and computers, but that latter only when the mood takes me as I spend all day working with them. Generally like being outside walking the dog.

    Dolphins

A valid point about the gills, but pretty sure this is genuine. Sure I have seen it on TV and read about them blowing bubble rings.

    Is balaclave

Well I got cert with no cabinet. You don't need a cabinet to get a cert. I am not sure if he is a fake or not. I have exchanged a couple of PM's with him, but then again I am a loaner and just greatful for a friend.
  25. Sure I had this on my first Nintendo... had the gun that went with it and everything!
