You could try regular car polish and a soft cloth, the polish is not abrasive so should not cause further damage, it will even leave a protective finish. Someone might have a better idea but I would be happy doing the above. Then when all is right make sure the gun is wiped down with an oily cloth or silicone cloth before you put it away, it might also be worth keeping one of those napier pouches that remove moisture in with the gun, either in the bag or just in your gun cabinet. Hi - you can get a clamp from Dr Bob on the R7OC, fits round the buddy bottle, you can then add one no problem. If you want a pic pm me an email address. EB
  3. Cool...Does anyone know where you can get these? EB
  4. Now that's what I call 24hr protection :yp:
  5. For large tarpon from the shore a multiplier is the way to go as they hold plenty of line, personally I only target them from a boat and use uprated spinning tackle with 50 - 80lb braid and a fixed spool reel and have had them over 140lb. The spinning tackle helps on the cast as am usually using small crabs or threadfin and with me not being that experienced with multipliers I dont need a bird nest just as I'm eyeing up a big silver king. The braid helps shorten the fight and get the fish to the boat ready to realese whilst it still has some energy left, take to long and you risk losing them to the sharks. EB

  10. ohhh my days...that is sweet although I bet he doest have a Cadet Major .177 I do like the look of that flame thrower, you could clear a few rats with that. EB
  11. Fine for fac but for sub12ft/lb they drop like a stone. EB
  12. If the gauge is part of the valve ie only suitable for surface use the the test is every 5 years however if it is a dive tank that has the charging hose and gauge separate to the valve then the test is every 2.5 years as it could be used for diving as well as filling airguns..hope that makes sense. EB
  13. mmmmmmmmmmm..I've always fancied a pre-war air rifle, have shot a few down Bisley at bell targets and as you say they shoot really well, as long as the barrel is straight. EB
  14. Nothing wrong with rapids, I think it's just that there are not that many people with a ticket for fac air who have'nt already got one . The sub 12ftlb ones sell like hot cakes. EB
  15. Thanks for that Cranfield, seems like a sensible suggestion. EB
  16. [Complete your profile with Location, this will help
  17. Fantastic, I've a Cadet Major in .177 which my dad had from new, not quite in the league of the Lincoln but cetainly shoots straight.
  18. Hi, Am not sure that this is in the right section but here goes any way. I currently do some business with a company who's chairman is a very keen shooter and I have been asked if I can recommend somewhere for him and his son to go for a days pigeon shooting? As you can see from my profile I am based in Surrey but travel is not a problem as this is all about them having a great day out as opposed to popping down the road for a quick blast. Both are experienced guns who normally shoot pheasant and partridge so I thought it was about time they discovered how good they really are when it comes to pigeons... I am willing to pay the going rate for a days shoot for them but just need someone who can offer somewhere to go that is going to be worth while, I can also offer a days rabbit shooting on one of my shoots in return if anyone is interested(BASC members only), although this would be air rifles only due to horses nearby. Many thanks EB Ps - if you pm me your number I can call to discuss in further detail, alternativly just post on here.

  20. I'd love a pre war air rifle to do a bit of plinking with but with so many different models where do you start? I think that I may also have a bit of trouble sneaking another gun pass the wife They seem to be alot of gun for the money and a bit of history there to boot.
  21. And another this morning...I must be on a roll. EB
  22. You wont regret it these are fantastic scopes with a huge field of vision which is great for scanning tree tops, barns etc, I've got one on my TDR and have used it for shooting rats at 20 yards and rabbits out to 35+ with no problems. EB

You might want to try these people: http://www.deepblueshooting.co.uk/category...1255&page=2 They can do a 7ltr 300bar filling kit posted for £175 or 3ltr for £139 Then all you need is a local dive shop to fill it for you - price around £3 per fill. EB
