  1. Cheers, unfortunately looks like a good rifle but was looking for a 1 in 9 or 1 in 8 for target work, however good luck with your sale somebody will end up with a good fox gun
  2. Altcar did have clay pigeon shooting last summer, last time I was down there shooting full bore rifle, not sure of the club or how you go about shooting there as you need a pass to get on to the camp. I think there are members on here who shoot there they will be able to fill in the blanks
  3. Parker hale 009, youngs 303, Napier gun cleaner, clp break free & sweets solvent. I use these dependant on shogun or rifle and what I can get clp is hard to find these days and so is sweets solvent.
  4. What is the barrel twist .? How many rounds have been shot through it ? What is the ammo with it ? Any pics of the gun ?
  5. The peltor 6s I just use aaa batteries so any rechargeable version of aaa should be ok
  6. Fibre wad carts only and reduction in benefits to members, in my book not worth the membership fees now for the number of times a year I shoot there, I agree on the signing in being tightened up but as gozzy says makes sence to pay as you go
  7. As far as I am aware beretta never made a 474 model the have done the 626 / 470 / 471 & the current 486 model, that's there side by side range I may be wrong as I am no expert
  8. Had a couple of betinsolli shotguns over the years only problem I have ever had was a broken firing pin many years ago, good reliable guns the only thing I would say would be get a mint one s/hand if possible, if you buy new you will loose money in the long term last one I had bought it about 6 years ago traded it in last year against a .308 howa rifle got £400 trade in value which is good, normally s/hand 12 gauges go from £400 - £550 private
  9. I tend to carry a handful of bb shot carts in my pocket in case Charlie appears at close range
  10. If you use a fair amount of ammunition and had your fac a while ask, they can only say no, I asked as I had 600 hold 500 buy but had it increased to 1500 hold and 1000 buy as I use quiet a bit of ammunition which could be proved.
  11. It would depend on if there are any financial benefit to being a member or if the membership is effectively free with the savings you make, I have just had my renewal reminder and it sounds very similar to the original posters, so wouldn't be surprised it it's the same club. I can understand the need to sign in for health and safety , so they know who is on the ground and everybody can be accounted for in case of emergency, however the benefits as far as I can see have been reduced this year with the new loyalty scheme, so with the times I shoot there to the savings I will make over the year, it makes no sense for me to renew this year , I will shoot what I have on my clay mate card but after that will pay as a guest, as I don't shoot the members competition.
  12. Fairly standard condition as there is no competition where you would score for a third shot, plus if everybody has to cartridges, makes people feel safer after they hear the second shot discharged as in theory the gun should be safe
  13. Full choke normally used for clay pigeon shooting in events like abt / dtl
  14. No dosent need a Rfd providing you are doing a face to face transaction. The buyer will need a free slot for .223 and also a free slot for .223 sound moderator. You need to check the buyers fac to make sure they have authority presuming the do, you need to fill in the details on page 3 of the buyers fac for both the rifle and moderator sign it date it. Keep the details from the buyers fac and write to your local police authority stating you have disposed of the rifle and moderator to mr x his details are xxxx. The buyer will also write to their authority stating the have purchased from you. If you are going to get another rifle in the life of your fac then also fill out a 1 for 1 variation for both the rifle and mod, send your fac in and you will get it back with the slots open again, if you don't do the 1 for 1 you will lose the slots
  15. Got £400 for mine as a trade in, depends on what you trade it in against and what profit the Rfd is making, plus my Rfd I do quite a bit of business with so to him probably worth paying slightly more as no doubt he will get it back over the years
  16. Congratulations, for being a employer with dignity to treat your staff with respect, rather than the normal unethical parasitise who screw the average employee at every given opportunity, pay minimum wage and let the benefit system support them. people exist on minimum wage not live with dignity paying there own way rather being reliant on the benefit system to top up wages
  17. Exactly, regardless of which political party we have get somebody with some ******** and let the British people have a vote on Europe and let's see how long it takes before we are out of that cess pit. The world won't end because we are not a member of the eu, we managed for hundreds of years as a trading nation and we where once world leaders, now we are just a dumping ground for the expanding eu, which equates to the minimum wage becomes the maximum wage and the employers exploiting it for their own profit and having yet another generation wasted thanks to the greed of the few.
  18. G/f loves it, I was never my cup of tea but after watching a few shows with g/f it is slowly growing on me
  19. As previously said really need to loose a bit of weight, so try and stay away from the goodies like cream cakes etc. The other is to do more shooting and fishing, however not to spend as much as I have this year on new toys. Another one is to try and find a new job
  20. Liked his music, not fond of his views but everybody is entitled to there own views but wouldn't wish cancer upon anybody. It is a nasty diseace
  21. Depends on what you want to do with the round as a practice round I use the eley sport, eley match are good but you are looking at double the price of sport if you are target shooting, eley subs and winny subs depending on what I can get for field work
  22. There was quite a few people who had problems with them, from what I know the 3.5" chambered versions tended to be the main ones for probs. I had a 3" chambered one never had a problem with it

    Fao teal

Hi, have you had chance to have a look into some pigeon watch fleeces if they are viable ?
  24. Teal said he was going to have a look at getting another run of fleeces at the last run of polo shirts if it was viable, anybody heard anything since ?
  25. No but they did put across the point that they where the most dangerous type of weapon, I think they where trying to make it sound even worse than it actually is
