  1. ^^^^ you beat me to it^^^^ I was only talking to my vet about this very thing a few days ago. my pup was limping so h had a good look for this. knock to the leg in my case. It is very common in JRT's. the knee cap runs in a groove, up and down as they walk, on occasions the cap pops out of this groove, the dog hops on other three legs for a few paces until the cap pops back into place. he siad very common and a opp to deepen the trench can fix it but most people just live with it. regards Phil.
  2. Im after one for inside the dog kennel so i can keep an eye on the older cocker as he is possessive and my new pup whats to play with his things. i only need 3 meters. Phil.
  3. I had some camouflage paint but i chucked it away as it was streaky.

  8. 4 fields of cut peas and only 10 birds on them in total. loads on the ground but pigeons not having any of them. farmers discing it tomorrow so i have bummed out on it. the birds just aren't around here at the moment it seams.
  9. middle of a field, the only place we could set up without damage to crop. bird tried to land on top of the hide a few times as well as on the wires above. I have meters spare that i was going to put into 5 mtr lengths and put in the forsale for a fiver with a little help for postage. Phil.
  10. my cocker was the same. at 20 mths he had yellow molars but after i started to give a cows rib every 5-6 days he is back to bright white. just go to your butcher and ask for small cows bones. i will only let him have it for the day and then bin it. raw bone from butcher Phil
  11. i do my cocker once a year with panacur 3 day dose and then milbemax once a year. if i think he has been up to no good i will worm as needed. my pup in on advocate neck drops but im not sure about them. i will give her a 3 day worming to make sure at the end of month as this advocate should do worms, fleas and ear lice amongst other things. she still has ear lice so im treating with otodex now. because of this im not sure about the worms as i have found none yet. Phil.
  12. i wasnt overly impressed this time. some of the stands where very small, not as many decoying traders there this time and very few of the dog people. dont get me wrong, i got more or less what i was after but there wasn't much choice between traders. well done to mike smith and Kali again on there scurry winds and snooker wins. 2nds yesterday and a 1st-3rd today. roll on the midlands as i think its a better show. all the best Phil.
  13. oh believe me their not happy. old one is a spoilt ****** and the pup is a woman..... ..... chopsy don't you start, her has all ready threatened me and said its big enough for my bed. Phil.
  14. i was going to insulate that bit and turn it into a chiller for the pigeons and game then the waste heat from it i was going to blow in to the bed area. i then i looked at the cost of that compared with a second hand drinks fridge from a shop. its now a pigeon hole.hehe. Phil.
  15. thanks Paul, your a good man. got them in the post today. ATB Phil.
  16. why change to a lower bulb, bit daft that and pointless of having a good lamp. run live from battery and pick up an earth on the way to the dash. use a marine plug and socket. just make sure you use a high enough amp wire. the pajero's cigar wiring is pants at best. Phil.
  17. no 3 birds for one cart then, you could have made up a good story here and we might of believed it.......................... ... or not. hehe
  18. try cold game in a few wraps of stocking. put a dummy out as normal and get the retrieve, then the next one put the stocking out, if she just sniffs it with out much else then try a dummy wrapped in stocking 1st then swap for the game wrap. once you get her happy with that you can take a wrap of stocking off and do again. what i do for the lst is to get the stocking and tie it around the bird to hold the wings in. i have always had a problem with any retrieve, my lad would drop 5 foot away and that wait for me to pick it up. in the end i got the better of him on the river bank. we have a nice shallow river but with a good slopping bank. my cocker loves the water so i used that against him. i would throw a ball out 10foot into the water and then walk back up the slope. dog gets ball and come close to me, he then drops ball, the ball rolls past hm and back towards water. dog then goes get the ball and brings it back. it took 5 of 6 goes as this before he understood than if he puts the ball in my hand he would get a retrieved from the water. if he drops ball it would roll away. he now brings to hand most of the time. on occasions he tests me but i will not have it. for the last few weeks he has brought every single runner to hand and held it until i tell him to give. hope you get it sorted ATB Phil.
  19. nice work again sir. how many carts for that 51. Phil
  20. it wasn't cheap but it was a 1/3rd of a ready made one. the bars cost £130 delivered. the wood was £300 and the insulation, roof felt and other odds were around £50. base i hand mixed and cost £70. time took a long time. 8 weeks Phil.
  21. nice looking pups there. i bet ones gonna be called friesa and is going to be a right cow. Phil.
  22. i hope its two happy hounds.hehe theres a puppy in the photo some where i hope. Phil
  23. first chance of a photo today. she came home 12 days ago. the name means black lady, dark haired or black in a differant languages chalk and cheese with my other cocker. well chuffed with her so far but things can change.hehe. all the best Phil.
  24. at long last i have just finished the kennel. took me a long long time but then i can't work like i use to so its a bit here and a bit there. i was going to use mesh but when i priced it up it was as cheap to by bars ready done. its 3 x1.5m with a .9x.9x1.5m bedding area i have made it so i can put a divider in the box and run for when the pup comes in to season as i don't want pups for a couple of years. i cut the height on the bedding box down and used it as a cupboards for pigeon gear. the box in the back it where the heat lamp will sit. all the bedding box is insulated with that yellow foam stuff and then covered with 10mm marine ply and the run i have just lined with 6mm marine ply. i tried to make sure ever chew area had metal edge on it. just need to find some of that clear rubber door stuff to stop the wind in the bedding area and find a good water bowl. then its tidy up garden and put a path in. all this and i don't want madam in the house all the time so their both going out there. she came home 12 days ago and is so differant to my other cocker. with luck she will not be as hot to handle as Teague is very head strong and very easily wound up to distraction. Keira seams calmer and a little more laid back. she was 8 inch to shoulder at 8 weeks old. Teague was 10 inch so with luck she will be a little smaller. just thought i would share the photos with you all. all the best Phil.
