activeviii replied to decoying mad's topic in Motoring Section
why is it in kilometers. my clock says m/h for speed and there is a little gizmo box on the wiring at the back of the clock. reason im asking is i have to declare my annual mileage as im limited to 5000 so if its K's then that a little less. Phil -

look on milners for your service parts. £28 for oil, fuel and air filters and 7ltrs of oil. check rockets gaskets and half moon at the rear as its a weak point but only a couple ££ to fix. when your servicing it have a look in the fuel filter for black bits of rubber as its a give away that the pump seal is going or gone. if its a modified paj then try frank pickles for your insurance. mine is 140 fully comp and im covered on track days. i ave the LWB and the back, boot and front seats all fold flat to make a massssssive bed if not dne already then change the wiring from battery to cigar lighter as its a little to light gauge for the bigger lamps and soon heats up. activeviii replied to Redgum's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading

use a fishing brolly with a net over the top and learn to shot sitting down. as long as you have done your homework and the birds are still playing then they will try to land in your pattern. you dont need all the room above you, just the theater in front. i have shot many many a time like this and had fantastic days.

Yes but we ain't not skeet shooters, we be pigeon shooters............... ....sometimes. the rest the time we be like rope bangers, all noise but nothing dies.haha. Phil.

I was always told, one bird at a time, if you miss with 1st then you have the second barrel. but alas, i'm like Tom and i shoot at the 1st and then switch to 2nd bird, but the time i have swung to 2nd its often to late and i cock it up. sometime i do get all 3 with the semi but its a waiting game as i like to get the back bird as close as i can without the front bird spooking.

all sorted with frank pickles £140 as its my 2nd car not the main car. Highways dont put the pajero on their specialist insurance but all other 4x4 they do so well worth the phone call, dont do on line quote. Phil.

that who mine was with last year but i have just had a renewal for £751 on a pajero highways don't insure them anymore just tried to others and they will not insure imports now guess in flogging the pajero off now as this takes the pee.

i had a surf for a while and Commercial Vehicle Direct insured it no problems but would do the pajero. anyway worth a go as i could not find insurance anywhere as cheap as this lot Phil

you have let your dog get away with it and now thinks he can do as like. its not the whistle, its the dog. as said, get back to short range basics, if dog doesn't listen then go get it and take it back to where it should be and blow whistle. My cocker shut down for a bit and i had to go back to start again, he is back to where he should be but it took a week or so of putting him right. im back at it again tomorrow as he shut down towards the end of the day today but it was after 40 retrieves so i cant grumble to much, just give him a couple of days at it again just so it doesn't slip into habits. With my new pup im going over to the silent whistle as i like the idea of people not knowing when the dogs playing up.lol. ATB Phil.

I have a couple of fields that i will shoot over the next few days that are inch high wheat and the farmer rang today to say their hitting it hard but today i shot linseed stubble and ended with 40 odd birds so still getting them on stubble and on drilling's. Phil

the dog training help was on Thursday but now on Sundays. I missed the main part of the training back in the summer, so im told, but now its more to d with getting the sent up the nose of the dog. Mine hasn't had this much distraction before and only after a few short hours he his holding back nicely. easiest thing to do is give willow1 a shout over on the pubs site and he will give you all the info you need. he's an ex field trialer but very very down to earth. pm me if need be and i will pass on details but it will not be till Sunday when i see him next. hope that help All the best Phil

nice one. so if you has turned the target 180 degrees and then gone back to your 250 line and used the clover holes as your bull then in theory you should hit bull that is if you can see the clover holes at 250.hehe. still grate stuff. Phil.

The shoot is a very friendly one and i have been made to feel very welcome already, i have been to a couple of dog training days so far. The keeper is looking for a couple of dog handlers still for beating Phil.

28p a bird pays for a 2:1 shot count for me. so worth a trip when freezer is full but lean times im not going to run there and take a chance he will be there. i dont like pigeon. its like eating rat but with wings. not for me thanks. i will phone again tomorrow then if no joy i will have to pay a visit i think. i will not be recommending him to anyone else from now on, only take 2 minutes to write a cheque so he must have time to do that.

Anyone else having problems getting their money? I took 250 pigeons into him 5 weeks ago. he wasn't there but was told to put them in chiller with name on them. I have phoned him a half dozen times and he has my name, address and bird numbers but every time i ask if he has sent the cheque out he says he will do it straight away. i phone last Friday and he said the same thing and then i phoned wednesday again, he told me he had sent it Sunday/Monday. still no payment. only reason i havent been over to get my money is its £10 for fuel there and back. I will not use him again. i will chuck them in the bin rather than get dicked around.

unscrew bin and give posts a wiggle

put empty metal drum on floor. drive 3 half fence posts into ground using the barrel as template. once posts and in ground you cane then screw the drum to the posts. hole in bottom for spring and cage and fill up with feed. no animals going to take that down. Phil.
