Thanks for the help on this one D, shame i couldn't sort the other one out due to very very poor shot placement, still at least the mud over its head die.lol. thats 3 educated charlie i need to get the better of now. bait and wait next time i think thats a proper type lamp like. All fixed and ready to go, just going to sort ne connectors out so it dosnt happen again. Been thinking about a way to sort out the baiting. if i get a pir and a red led so that when movement is detected the led will come on. we should be able to see that from a good distance so it would save the lamp on and off. take the chairs and sit it out by the barn Phil.

Quick question. what do you want out of them? Reason im asking is if you want one dog to do all of it, then split it into two and lighten their work load. if you want one as a peg dog or for pigeon shooting then you have Elly, if you want one for walk up shooting or flushing to shot over then you have Sky. 8 mths is still young and you might find that they bounce off each other so that where one is weaker you might get the stronger one showing the way and in time the other will catch up. Me, I would keep both, i wish i had a pair when i got my lad.

Now the Government wants competence tests before you can be a dog owner Their taking the Piz I think we should all ask that they, the government, should take a competence test to see if there fit to run the country because at the moment their doing a sh4te job of it all. Phil.

did you get a chance to work it all out Para? regards Phil.

My cockers breeder uses her hawks over her cockers all the time. no problem at all. her dogs are used for picking up, beating and hawking as well as being companions. very versatile dogs with very big hearts. all she does with a new hawk is put the bird in a dog crate and leave it close to the dogs, this way the dogs get use to it. once one of her cockers got to close and the goshawk put it in its place. she has harris and goshawks

I have just had an email from the lady in the US that i order all my flocking from. for the next couple of days she is having 30% off he ebay shop but only on a couple of colours, black being one of them. http://stores.ebay.com/Katevo-Creations-and-Flocking if you want to do your crows then it is very very easy. black flocking powder. Black gloss paint. wire brush. paint brush. bakers flour shaker a box, you need to tape up all the hole on the inside Get your plastic crow and wash the mud off it Give a quick wire brushing so take any loose **** off. put the flocking in the flour shaker, i made my own with a chocolate milkshake powder pot and drilled a load of 2mm holes in the lid paint crow with black oil base paint, i use house hold gloss. do not paint the eyes, beak or feet. whilst still wet, wetter the better but dont load the paint on as it will drip. hold the painted crow over the box and shake the flocking onto the wet paint. you will know if you havent put enough on as the paint will soak back though the coating, just shake more on until no paint can be seen. do not shake or tap the crow, you need to leave all the extra powder on the paint until the thing i dry. i use a big box and one of these trog bucket things. i hold the crow over the bucket to shake the powder on then stand the crow in the box. this way you can pour the flocking from the bucket back into the shaker for the next bird. leave the bird in the box until it's dry then tap the dry bird to get the excess flocking off paint the eyes and the beak with a thin coat of black gloss, this just gives it a better finish but up to you if you do it. if you want the crows to look like jackdaws then you paint the smaller crows and once dry you put the bird in a bag but leave the neck and head out. get a cheap can of grey spray and give a VERY light dusting of spray to the head and neck. it dosent take a lot to over do it. i hold the spray about 18" away and very light dusting. Pigeons can be dont the same way but this time use dark grey gloss and grey flocking. wingbars and neck with white tester pot of egg shell acrylic paint beak and eyes with a yellowy model paint i add a little spray of greeny/blue with an air brush for the neck i did one lot about 2 years ago and there still like new. ok there not like the better shop bought ones but it only costs about a fiver to do 12 shells. mine i bought from the bay and they where shot to hell but it dont matter as the flocking hides all that. i have about 40 shells and in all it has cost me about £30 i will try and sort some photos out what i get the chance all the best Phil. forgot to add. a 1oz bag will do about 10 pigeon shells, 4/5 crows, 5/6 full body pigeons. but at $2 i just buy a little more. 1lt of gray paint did me 40 pigeon shells

My 18mth old is just the same. if he had had loads of work then he eats like a horse, if its a quite day then he will pick at it. he is on one meal aday as he wont touch a morning feed. I use to worry about it but now i know his weight and what he is up to, keeping an eye on his stool helps to know what hes up to. also if he has a stinky **** then we know he will not eat much until he has got rid of what ever has caused the stink. not the first time i have hear this either. seams to be a bit of a trait with cockers. Phil.

sounds like rape, when you split the crop open you will get a mustardy cabbage sort of smell from the rape. i have been flight shooting them with the dog and i thought he was biting into them as they came back with crops split open. i went a retrieved a few myself only to find the crops were split so it looked like the popped from the shot or when crashing into the floor or both. Phil.

cheaper to buy a transwave converter and the keep it 3 phase. i have done it to many time and now have learnt from it. you lost the torgue and unless paying silly money for a motor you will lose the speed control and low speed torque as well. one transwave and run all your machine power to the unit, then just pull the plug out from one machine and plug the next in as you can only use one at a time. best of luck with the sale. regards Phil.

Cheap pigeon cart's
activeviii replied to fieldwanderer's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
been using Prima 28gr 7 for the close decoy stuff and 30gr 6 clear pigeon for the roost or walk around stuff. the Primas are £125 per K from glos gun company, so i just keep my shooting short and they drop the birds nicely with no more runners than a 32 would give. Phil. -

I learnt the hard way and tried to do to much to quick, now i have to go back and start a few things over. very slowly and dont rush it. Best advice i was given was to let the pup be a pup, he will tell you when he wants to learn more. Phil

my cocker is just the same. fit and healthy noting wrong with him other than food issues. he seams to only eat what he needs and very rare will he over eat. what we have noticed is if he is out all day working then for two nights he will eat a bowl full, if he has had a few days off then he eats a half bowl. if we put roast chicken left overs in his kibbles then he eats it like theres no tommorrow but then the day after his turn outs start hard and then go squitty. when i asked the nutritionists at skinners they siad the squitty bit is unused protein where hes eaten to much. so the chicken of duck scraps get saved for work days now. I use to worry about it all the time but now i have learnt his quirkiness so all is good. Phil.

Microsoft AV. if anyone NEEDS to look after the system and their reputation then they do. its free and dosent slow system down like some others. once you have the virus lock away you need to get on the web and research it a little as some can hide, you think its gone but its just in your recycle bin waiting. a while a go i use to get a few viruses.lol. not now though.haha
