  1. 160 grain will work nicely on the boar. i have a hundred and something of 160gn prohuntrers here just sitting on the shelf. bought to test in a rifle that was shot out. ended with a re-barrel and then went with 140gn interlocks for the fallow. never went any further than that.
  2. cant get boar on the 6.5 down here. even though it will drop them and is used in Europe we need 270 minimum so be a little careful and check first.
  3. PVA is water soluble. It's fine for inside the house for sizing walls before plaster but not of out side render of waterproofing. Use SBR solution for exterior use. Saltings has the right idea. Or make it and latex paint the bowl area
  4. It's because some munties are hard and don't read from the same song book. Some are on grass and high so don't react the same. Some are shot with bs
  5. Reloading is easy. Casistancy and regularly is the hard part. Changing the way you do one step and be the hard part. Lee reloading have a reloading g book with data but best of all it gives the basics and is about the best and easiest read to get started. First time reloaded I was bricing it. Now, it's a love affair. I sort of know what I'm doing and have a plan before I start. Everything has an order and place. Read the Lee reloading guild and ask questions.
  6. thats strange. my 6.5 creedmoor dies, shell holders, trimmers all came with no problem at all. $14 postage and here within 7 days
  7. Mine runs out 2036 do I need the get it sorted before tag. Should have seen the face on the young lady in the fire shop this week when she asked for my driver's licence. Lol
  8. Have had all sorts over the years, Harris, deben, atlas, cheap Chinese. All have done the same job, some better than others but at a cost. Chinese Harris works just fine but cheaper metal so it wears quicker than the Harris. One I have here is about 10years old now and the hole where the spring it's on main body is better a little elongated, other than that, it's fine. About 3rd the cost of Harris The atlas I didn't like, yes issue the job but didn't can't and lock like a Harris style. Alot of money but well put together. I have the Chinese copy here and it's better but then I made parts for it to tighten it up so can preloaded the pod now. Again, still not the best at cant lock. Gone back to my Harris style.
  9. I have a few lapua and norma kicking around but I do like my ppu, next best thing to Winchester. If your over there and they do have some
  10. thanks Tim but i have a few prohunters left. didnt like the gamekings, to much damage on roe. so you bought a tikka t3 223 in 1:12. good luck with that, about the worse you could have done. i think the hornet would have been better. LMAO!!!!
  11. the left is the plastic tikka mag. still just about works but its hit and miss. as the photo shows, the head of the cartridge is just on the edge. Tikka Mag Black Mag 40grain V-Max loading into both. loaded maximum length of bullet. for them that asked Tikka Mag Black Mag I have nothing wat so ever against the tikka magazines, they are fit for purpose and all that. brilliant for the stalker and occasional stalker, even good for the range. however, they are plastic, they do wear and £54 for a replacement wears the wallet a bit thin after a while. my 6.5swede is still running strong and i doubt even will need replacing but the 223 i shoot a good number of rounds. i hade a good look around for metal mags, either 3 round or 10 and there are some cheaper, but they are stateside so att the postage and vat then your not cheap. riflemags never have stock of the 10 shot and they are harder on the wallet. plus, in my mind. they really look pants.lol. My black Rifle mag looks the part. love it and its mine. so there....
  12. you have forgotten the small game handling and small arms training 1 and 2. good news about expanding. i keep asking them. prohunters 243 in 100gn please. plus the 224 40gn blitzkings. i only shoot about 500 deer rounds a year so not worried about the horny interlocks.
  13. I like the 1:12 as I can use the lighter bullets and run them stupid fast for fox in and around the lambs, bulket doesn't exist and the fox just rattles with a squishy sound. I can run 55gn bullets but have no need. The 1:8 it's hit and miss on the lighter bullets, some do, some don't shoot 40gn ideally 50gn+ but you have the advantage of being able to run the heavy bullets and get out to a grand. 40gn run out and start tumbling at around 500 yards.
  14. The extraction rim on the small cases seam to rub the top lip of the mag away Melk. Gets to a point where the front of the case sits up in the magazine and the bolt lug will not pick it up,im finding its about the 3round down where the spring pressure must be different and flips the front up. Plus, with the longer chamber lengths in the 1:8 twist you can not get anywhere near the chamber lenght with the stock magazine, this one measures 65.17mm so now the heavier 223 bullets can be loaded out to the lands without compromise. I'm very happy with the magazine, one of my better buys, i can't wait till black rifle start manufacturing the 308 mags so I can get the 6.5 creedmoor running how I want. Happy days.
  15. You want quality, you pay for it. You want Tupperware, you pay for it. Mass produced plastic magazine, that does wear out and the 223 wears quicker than most. As said, 3x 7 shot mags worn so far. This one it solid. Aluminium and will last for ever. Plus it's a 10 shot that alot of people are asking for. Heck of a lot cheaper that replacing the stock to get an AICS mag to fit. As well said, it's a smaller audience, also UK designed and manufactured, in small numbers. We live to our means, if that means you need to look out for the lower priced items to enjoy what ever sport it is your into then so be it. Buy once, cry once. This Black Rifle magazine is the dogs danglies and to me, a very good buy. I don't really know why I'm justifying my spending to you anyways lol.
  16. Shoot enough and the lips on the mags soon wear out. I have 3 that have worn so a metal mag soon make real sense. Getting fed up of feed issues with the plastic mag
  17. Yes Tim , 1:12. Same as mine but lite barrel, not the varmint in super varmint stock. Will take 40-52 grain with no problem, 55gn at a push but that's hit and miss on some rifles. I couldn't get them to group but then I have a tendency to run 223 fast. 40gn blitz kings where running 3800. Thought best and kinder on barrle to slow them down a wee bit Some have clearance just about all the way some don't. There is a couple high points in the web of the stock as long as it hose past the first two you'll be fine, unless you banging out the rounds. Running 40gn sbk(3678fps) and vmax(3150) in same hole at 100. 52amax also same hole (3122). Both hornady loads are on hodgdons powder and the blitzkings are n130
  18. Forgot to add. OAL, 65mm. Omg! That's a big one. 300 rounds loaded and waiting for the weekend, looks like a wet play day but a great test.
  19. They do the cerakote Melk but no, this ones the hard anodised version. Every one that's knocked the door the last couple of days I have thrust it in their hands for a feel. If any of our group wish to have a play then more than welcome. Range at end or month for anyone that wants to try as well. I'm so impressed with it I can't stop talking about it. The way I see it is. A t3 plastic mag is £50+ I have binned 3 so far just to wear on the lips. This one, its not going to wear out so in the long run its a saving, and it looks great as well.
  20. Didn't think I could link so I didn't but as your a mod and asked hehe http://www.blackrifle.co.uk/Tikka-T3-10-round-magazine-p/dw-mag.htm No more problems with short mag depths on these. There's load of room for seating
  21. Today a 10 shot mag dropped on the door mat to fit the .223 Tikka T3. UK manufactured. Machine from aluminium so none of this wearing out of the lips. It's solid, strippable and the workmanship in it is outstandling. Massive thumbs upto black rifles in the making of these. Cant wait for the 308 version so I can run one on the new T3 6.5 creedmoor. Very very impressed with it. Oh, and I can drop feed single rounds as well. Not like my other 3 Tikka plastic mags Well done black rifles.
