  1. if you want to try the hot-cors 120gn then i have 16 left. i'll swap you for some Accubonds. Im going to take a trip over to reloading solutions in the next fortnight as im thinking of 140gn hot-cores (SP) as NJC seams to think that will work nicely. Problem i have is the barrle on my tikka is 1" shorter than yours, will it make much differance? i have a blind deer at the moment.
  2. hornady 20g and 17g shot like a blunderbuss. remington 17g shot one hole groups at 100 mtrs. split cases made no difference what so ever. i dont even bother looking at them. i like to eject fast while still warm all over the guy laid next to me so i dont get chance to look.
  3. I was about to post up on what an *** you sound and your banging on about the GL but not showing the part you were interpreting, but then i noticed the date. Have things changed
  4. lightweight pinewood. 7 amp battery will last best part of the day. 12amp will give you a full summers day. will take hyper flaps and dead birds. adjustable arms for crop height. Mine had done thousands of hours over the years and is just starting to play up now. something to do with an old moaning bloke standing in the spin didnt help. single leg that screws into the ground, no need for tripod once you know what your doing with it.
  5. would it be worth putting the names up of the people that have confirmed with you as i know a couple are a little slow to do things and might need a little kick up the bum to get them to commit.
  6. Diesel will penetrate better than most things, even better than WD40. stand in diesel for a couple of days and then apply heat the the outer of the barrel, hair dry on its hottest setting will do it. if you can get a steel bar the size of the bore then it will help also. put the bar in the freezer to get it really cold. make sure there's no burrs to scratch the bore. warm the barrle until it is nice and toastie, while it is still hot you need to put the cold bar in the choke. it will only take 10-15 seconds to work, then quickly remove bar and with a good fitting choke key give it a turn. once out i would get your bronze brush and spin it on the thread in the barrel. clean it very well. another way is to soak in diesel and then go shoot a load of clays. the heat and banging should help to loosen every thing up. If you was closer i would get to to bring it around.

    Hayfever.

every time i have had the jab in the past i have waited until it is real bad then straight after the jab i go and get hay fever as bad as i can then next day it has gone. but i have used all the jabs up i can have or so i have been told by the quack.
  8. 100% on what Adi says. I have known a few people go off the rails and onto other drugs. I will not have anything to do with anyone that has had to much drink or any smoke and then wanting to go pull the trigger on a gun. this threads also makes me wonder on how many of the guys that have replied smoke the green as there is a pattern forming
  9. I have just had to float a tikka T3 lite in its plastic stock. I have done all my CZ's Americans a long time ago. wood stocks and even synthetic expand and contract from heat and moister. if the stock is touching then the barrel cant expand on that side to the barrel is pushed to one side or up, this alters your zero. heat from firing a few rounds one after the other also causes zero shift if you stock is touching. the stock can draw the heat out of the barrel where it touches and this also cant push the barrel to one side. does a floating barrel really make much differance? all the pro paper punches seam to think so.
  10. The stalking directory. 100 cases. 6.5x55 PPU. about a month ago. always happy to take more when you have then and the time. kind regards Phil
  11. Sorry John i forgot to thank you for posting them out to me. THANK YOU... Do you want the 308 case and the one surplus that has the 2 flash holes lmao. not a worry as the 2 holes now have a M7 thread in the bottom to use on the home made OAL gauge. if you have more i will be more than happy to deal with you again. ATB Phil.
  12. Im still waiting to shoot my first with glasses, i didnt know they wore them. learn something new every day. Nice little right up there though. speedy recovery on your eyes. All the best Phil.
  13. so where the photos?? we can see the one of dead birds but not you climbing all over the bonnet or the most important one of the young lady
  14. have a look at duck commander jackets, i have a mate that swears by them. never cold but, they are camo. I use deerhunter, i get on well with them but you have to be careful on cleaning as they will let in raid if washed wrong. also the zips are not waterproof as my mobile found out in a down pour. sportsman are cheap, i use ram for stalking and pigeon shooting and i cant remember the name of the smart one i ware for picking up on shoots.
  15. It took 9 weeks for gloucester do do a variation. i had to have a patch of land checked as well. Farmer sent his in 1 day after me for variation but no land check needed. I phoned and spoke to them every week after 3 weeks. i ran out of rounds for two rifles and i could not shoot them until ticket came back. My ticket came back one week before farmers. not bad considering they did say 4 days. :yp:
  16. Don't ask.lol. Hundreds there on the peas yesterday and today there was none. try again thursday.
  17. This will be North Gloucester. Out of intrest, did it show in the title?
  18. I had the same problem. all to often i drove 10 mile to deal with rabbits only to find i had the wrong bolt and it wouldnt fire. I have engraved the underside of the bolt now. there is a nice flat area that can be seen once bolt is in rifle. the stupid thing is i have just bought a second Tikka T3 in differant calibre. only differance is case size so i just know im going to put the 6.5x55 bolt in the .222 and not notice until i pull the trigger. new bolt handle i think is needed.lol.
  19. short notice i know but i need a third person for tomorrow, on peas. must have own kit and can walk 300 meters carrying it. If it works out then i might have a day on the crows as well for this person on Thursday. must know what their doing with the crows as well. meet as my place to leave at 9.30am, not early but i have to do the school run first. this is a one time offer. not an open invite to shoot when you like. PM if you want a days shooting. No guarantees but its FREE. ATB Phil.
  20. Plus it's all good and well now with this government but what will happen when a differant government get in control. they say 25 years on these free installs before you see any benefit but my mind says that its a lot of governments in 25 years.
  21. I have a big hobart which will do a whole roe in ten minutes. i double mince all mine. I then freeze in 1lb balls. when i need i put two bags of vinison to a 750g pack of pork, add the sessonings and then hand mix. once happy i put though an Aldi mincer with the biggest holes. a burger press was a god send. its so much easier.
  22. what did you say yesterday when i told you about the lathe for sale. something about a car? lol
  23. My Beretta has a rod that sits in the mag tube and stops you loading the extra one but that doesnt put people's mind at rest. Thunderpants, i will tell you in person went our paths next cross. Range day on the 25th im hoping the 6.5x55 will be in my hands by then. shop playing silly beggers. Fruity. old boy that got his knickers in a twist and only shot one clay on a stand, forgot he had the 2nd up the spout and walked out the stand, how i dont know but the trigger got pulled and two people took the shot in the body. Dogz25 knows the ground well, pond on right as you go up the drive. my gamekeeper buddy is one of the coach's there as well.
