  1. Will when I looked yesterday they had harvested a strip about 50yds wide round the edges, and I could see spilled maize all over the place. I can only suspect this will be the case with the rest of the fields, you say you have had success with spilled maize do you think its worth a go at the weekend?? Peregrine
  2. Hi guys there are a couple of fields of maize being cut this week on one of the farms I shoot over, I have never come in contact with maize before in fact at first I thought it was sweetcorn and was wondering if this will become a draw for pigeons. Has anyone any experience with this crop, if so any suggestions would be welcome. Cheers Peregrine

    Horrified

I hope the ******** that did this are made to suffer longer than the poor dog did, incidents like these make me ashamed to be human. :< :<
  4. Caught me as well as everyone at work: :yp: :yp:
  5. Keep trying mate something will turn up, maybe you could try the NPPC I dont know if they operate in your area or not try the link at the top of the page.
  6. Sammyboy I think you will find that most of us here on this forum kill our own mints. what you need to do is go out and knock on doors looking for a farmer that has a mint problem and needs someone to destroy them. or possibly find/start a mint hunting club where other mint hating people can get together and discuss the best tactics for ambushing whole packets of extra strongs. I dont quite know how you would go about this, perhaps a horshoe pattern of oversized humbugs might draw the little blighters in let us know how you get on
  7. They are all shifty looking ****, its part of the job discription of being an anti!!
  8. I have observed them feeding on beech mast in my area, but havent had a chance to shoot them yet. :< they were in respectable numbers too maybe 300-400.
  9. I think the death sentance should be brought back for pre-meditated murder and child sex offenders. I know a lot of libral minded people think this is excessive and demanding the death of an offender is making us as bad as them, but so what!! Justice in this country is a bloody joke wiith the law on the side of the offender in most cases. I believe in an eye for an eye, maybe if they knew they were going to face death themselves these child killers would think twice, and if not at least there would be no chance of these b*****s doing it again. :< Anyone who deliberately sets out to murder someone else has no place in society, and should be removed permanently, forget about rehabilitation in most cases this is impossible, and why should we have to pay for them to sit in jail when they contrubute nothing and make our own streets unsafe for other law abiding citizens and their children. Sorry to get on my soap box but this is an issue I feel strongly about. Im sure there will be a lot of posts disagreeing with my views, but i've got to say I am unmovable on this subject.

    AOL

You should all get rid of your crappy pc's and get a real machine, an Apple Mac. No more windows ****, no more viruses, no more crashes and they look so coooooooooooooool!
  11. Hoping for some advice from all you pigeon shooters out there. I have been considering the purchase of a 20 gauge for decoying and flight pond shooting, as most pigeons I am shooting lately are in the 15-25yrd range I am finding a 12 gauge a bit overkill. Do you recomend a 20 or does this lack killing power, if you recomend it what is a cheapish gun? and how much are cartidges, are they more expensive or comparable with 12 gauge. Your advice would be appreciated lads. Peregrine
  12. Hey Mad they look really good mate, wish my Springer was like that !!
  13. I would imagine LB that the law would be with the cat owner, as you are responsible for keeping your dog under controll. :< I once had a large female Redtail hawk kill a cat that had come into my garden to stalk her, I had no idea who owned this cat and I must admit that although the law might have been on my side, I didn't take any chances and just put the cat on the road to make it look like it had been run over :*) What we need are more details, does this cat live near you? Did anyone see this happen? Could you visit the owner to explain? etc. Peregrine

    Hey...

Hi Jess welcome to the forum. Do you ride or do you follow on foot? I dont hunt but my stepdaughter does, she is 13 and ride's. Got 2 horses and they cost a bloody fortune still she enjoys it, comes hawking with me a lot, keeps asking to come pigeon shooting , but she never stops talking (like her mother) and the thought of being trapped in a hide with that incessent chattering would drive me nuts You will find lots of support for hunting on this forum even though I suspect most of us dont do it ourselves you are in good company!!
  15. Good job it wasn't a full face helmet
  16. A DRAW....A DRAW, you obviously spoil your thai unmercifully!! No! plenty of room in the ferret hutch and they can keep it cleaned out while they are there as well. And if she wants to bring her family with her just extend the run
  17. I always use acupell, for pure killing power they are hard to beat. Very acurate too, head shot rabbits go down like they have been hit with a .22 rimfire on many occasions I have picked up a shot bunny with the blade of grass it was eating still in its mouth, it did'nt even know it was dead
  18. KS lovely marked dog mate, looks like she's going to be a cracker
  19. PM I am well impressed with you and your dog, you are doing great and I am pleased for you. I will keep you posted on my progress, i am determined to perservere with this dog, and realise that any probs I am having is not a fault with the dog but is due to my own sad limitations.
  20. Cracking dog PM love the markings, I have always liked springers over all the other breeds unlike, your dog though mine does'nt give a *****k about pleasing me, in fact the complete opposit, she does anything she can not to do as she's told. I am beginning to think I am going to have trouble with this one she is over 5 months old and is not even sitting to command! Probably my fault though as I am pretty novice at dog training and this is the first pup I have had. So any pointers would be appreciated.
  21. Heard on the news last night that the Countryside Alliance is planning a march in Brighton next Tuesday, anyone know anything about it?? Anyone from this forum going?
