    Duck Flight

Agree with motty totally.Quality over quantity everytime.
  2. Went to Doveridge just for the practice.Same stands as the British open.Didnt keep score. Shot ok,but never managed to hit that white rabbit at the top of heart attack hill .Only had about 25 shots at it though. Anybody manage to hit the thing please tell me how.
  3. If you get more than you can handle .Take them to sporting supplies at Bloxwich. Not far from you .Think you have to phone first to let them know. They will give you some cartridges for them or cash if you perfer. Not alot mind but if your stuck better than nothing.
  4. Yesterday on one of my rape stubble fields shot 30 for 56 shots some nice shots and some easy misses.Pigeons seemed to have moved off as most of the spilt seed had started to grow. Most of the pigeons had barley in thier crops, so i think i was getting passing trade mostly.Nice day really just enough to keep it interesting.Better than being sat on the combine for 8 hours anyway.
  5. Kingsley moor scores are in. I cant count and my 85 turned out to be 84. If Chard is who i think he is,he got a second place in his class.
  6. A breezy day at Kingsley moor today.Wind affecting a few of the stands .Shot the field better today only dropping 2 in there.Nasty simo pair in the car park only managed half of them, think i kept missing the second bird high and in front .Finished with 85, not to bad in the conditions. Just checked the scores on the website and i got 84 not 85 .

    Wheat

Seen a few around staffordshire. All wheat is still standing and they are just dropping in it .I watched them for about half an hour today and couldnt decide if it was the grain they were eating or the small weeds underneath the canopy.May have to shoot a few tomorrow to find out.
  8. The mk 38 can be a little heavy in the higher grades .Well i never knew that Coach.I always thought the higher grades were better wood and engraving.Nice guns all the same and should last a lifetime.
  9. My tip is to make sure your hide is very good and keep still. Their eyesight is much better that the humble pigeon.Good luck.
  10. The moor they call Kingsley today for me. It seemed a little bit tougher today to me with some tricky stands.Only two stands straighted, Eight i dropped 1 on. .Dropped 3 from 6 on my last stand in the car park which was my only real downer on my day .85 it added up to Quite pleased overall.Getting closer to a 90+ which is what i want to get.
  11. Kingsley moor. Decided to shoot the field last .Well i dropped 10 over the other stands then dropped another 9 on the 4 stands in the field.Disappointing finish for me.
  12. Its fine if you dont use 3 inch carts, and your not supposed to use full choke with steel.
  13. I think if you chuck steel out at 2000fps and go up 2 shot sizes (bigger) then it is comparable to lead which is thrown out at 1400 fps. This is what i am understanding about the lead v steel debate. I could be wrong though and probably am.
  14. I read the article in sporting gun today about the chap who shot his friend in the leg whilst shooting pigeons. He wrote that he reloaded his gun, and when he brought the stock up to close the gun, he had a misfire. The shot went into his friends leg who was sitting next to him. I have never experienced my gun going off when closing it .I witnessed a young girl at at clay shoot loose both barrels off when she closed her gun, but i think she must of had her finger on the trigger when she closed the gun. Has anybody else had there gun go off whilst closing it ? scary stuff.
  15. Doveridge today.Oh dear oh dear.Struggled on every stand. Was quite windy, but thats no excuse for such a poor show from me today.I finished on 65 i think .
  16. I would guess as it was a borrowed gun and the first time you shot with it, i think it didnt quite fit you properly.Probably wasnt pointing where you thought it was. Pigeons just catching the edge of the pattern not the middle like you would with your normal gun.Only my guess.
  17. 71 .Are you sure. You dont look it. Looked at least 10 years older to me.
  18. jko i was standing right behind you when that happend on stand 7 although i didnt know who you were at the time. I saw nothing wrong with the simo pair.I should stick a 86 down if i were you.You were smashing them for fun . How did you get on on that first rabbit ,it kept on jumping like a kangaroo for me.
  19. Went to kingsley moor.I really must stop starting off in the field, dropped 6 on the first two stands in there. The rest of the layout wasnt too tough to be fair .I kept on dropping the odd one or two as is my style .Finished with 86, should of been in the nineties.
  20. I had mine tightened last year . I bought it new in 1991 probably put 70 thousand shots through it in that time .It didnt cost a lot to be done about £50 with a service aswell .Good choice of gun mate
  21. Would love too, Ive not shot Hodnet for a few years but i think i have to work on that day.
  22. That would be a lot of powder mate.
  23. Went to shuggy this morning, started poorly dropping 8 over my first 3 stands. Kept on dropping one or two on the next 5 stands .I finished quite well only dropping 3 over my last 4 stands.I think it must be a concentration problem, just stupid misses keeps on costing me a decent score .My card said 80 but i am sure it should of been 81.
  24. There are a few on gun trader second hand £650-£775 .New price on there is £920 .Guess it all depends on the condition .
