  1. The thing is - he asked the same question last month!
  2. My son is 11 and a member -so wind it in. My last post was in reference to YOU asking the SAME question last month! - 26 and daddy having to find things out for him? hmm.
  3. Oh and same advice you were given when you asked last month: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/223417-legal-difference-between-22-and-22-rf/&do=findComment&comment=1922927
  4. How old is your son? - if he intends to purchase an Section 1, then clearly he would be old enough to be permitted - so why can he not ask the question on an internet forum? My lad is 11 and he knows the difference between my Rimfire and centrefire rifles, - he also knows about the different guage shotguns.
  5. I got a reply in less than 2 hours - as I usually do, so that is good service - yes he is still trading. He didn't have what I had mailed about - but what I ordered hit the mat today.
  6. As long as they are raw, then yes you can - wee feed whole raw chicken carcasses. It is cooked chicken bones you don't give dogs, as they splinter. Mike
  7. Why would I? - he dealt with my query in a prompt and efficient manner as he always does. Very happy with the service I received. (As it happens he did not have what I needed, but was still quick with his reply) Mike
  8. I e-mailed Peter earlier - had a reply within an hour. Mike
  9. No Dougy - most of us have decent check weights - but Jam1e is struggling to get to grips with reloading, now it has been suggested he seeks help from someone local - but that seems to be not happening.
  10. Buy once and cry once - get a Rail and mounts from Third eye tactical. End of story! Mike
  11. Jamie, I would put money that your Lee scales are CORRECT and your digi ones are wrong. - as has been said above a penny weighs 54.939gr if you are getting 54gr - you are not reading them accurate enough - you need someone to show you.
  12. Musto, Ptarmigan, Chrysilis all sell nice ladies tweed jackets - also look at equine stores - as ladies hacking jackets are also in tweed and there are several good makers. (Married to a wife who shoots and hunts!) Mike
  13. Never had an issue with mine - been out in some typical British weather - keeps me warm and dry - like others have said - layers and a bigger size works wonders!
  14. As Kent says - you cannot make a call from that - shot balling is also a common problem with Heavy shot (The brand) and Bismuth - I have picked ducks off the foreshore shot at a good 35-40 yards that looked like I had shot therm with a cannon.
  15. Steve You need to look at this realistically - he won't want to come home at weekends for long! I am ex-RAF and there is no issue keeping his guns in the station armoury - all he will need is authority - I changed my address on my FAC each time I changed force area, kept things simple. The RAF have a very good target rifle team (let me know if you need a contact) Prior to him applying for an FAC he is going to need to be a full member of a target shooting club (if he is just going to target shoot and not live quarry) - this will take time and he will need to attend regular - once completed he can then apply. Alternatively join the RAF - then join the RAF target shooting association - do his probation with them, then apply for his FAC. Mike
  16. Yes Pete, he is not making them anymore nor does he know for one coming up for sale - but will keep an eye open for me. Mike
  17. I am looking for a 9mm straight pull (not the lever release) - SGC did these a few years back in the AR style - I have a spare slot and cash waiting of anyone has one or knows someone with one to sell (The one on GT has gone) Mike
  18. Why is it strange? I have permission on several large estates as well as some small farms to fly the pheasant and partridge with my hawks and falcons - although parking and flying from the road is not ideal and not something I do - if he has permission then it is up to him how he does it - as for why not park by the gate? - he is obviously trying to get a kill for his bird and will want to be as close as he can for the slip. Oh and as for your comment about no Gamekeeper or farmer letting anyone with a bird of prey catch their birds at this time of year - clearly you have no idea of falconry!! - the season starts 1st Oct for pheasant and I've been out almost every day since then- killing at least one pheasant each time!! (Oh and all with permission too!) Mike
  19. He should no longer sell them in the feather!! - find someone in the pub who shoots or beats etc and ask them. Where in Cheshire are you? Mike
  20. Do you not beat or pick up? most of our shoots will happily give you a brace or several at the end of the day.
  21. He will probably be out stalking during the day or busy - around 6pm is usually a good time to get him - or e-mail him - he normally returns calls very quickly! Mike
  22. Speak to Mike at Calton moor range (Tunnel range) less than an hour from you. Mike
  23. You will be surprised just how far you can shoot out too with them - at the last FCSA day at Sennybridge, we were knocking down the 400yd ETR consistently with a .44 LBR Mike
  24. That does not cover you for target shooting.
