  1. First price will be the stalk fee. The second is the shot fee. You dont pay the shot fee if you dont take a shot!
  2. Actually what is happening is Staffordshire under their new FLM are adopting the AOLQ condition. And since the 1st is a BH It won't be starting from then! Mike
  3. Look at the MLAGB website - you will need to find out when (Or if) they are running guest days - as you cannot just turn up and play as a non FAC holder. (Drop them an E-mail they are not a bad bunch!) Regards Mike
  4. Team Tractor, I have to disagree with you about Staffs, Sue Johnson the new FLM is first class, she is very approachable and extremely helpful - yet again I've had two variations and a change in conditions turned around in 3 days with them. I don't shoot a HMR so can't comment on them, but I have CWD and Muntjac listed for my .223's - a change in conditions is also a free variation - of course, you need to provide evidence of having access to these species, either on ground you have permission to shoot, or via booked stalks - they will not issue it just on the off chance you might see one. Mike
  5. Google the new stuff from Tim Stewart (Current F/TR European champion) it is called C2R - it works even on barrels cleaned by 009 and the other stuff - it still drags out copper and carbon like you would not believe. Mike
  6. Age ideallg 10-14 months old coming in. Takes 8-12 weeks depending on what the client wants. Cost varies but account for £125-£150 per week to include all fees. Things to look for: Do they come recommended? Are they insured? Professional indemnity and to cover vets fees etc Are the kennels licensed to take and board dogs? Sending a dog for training by a professional means they are doing it as a way of business, so they should be licensed to board by the local authority. Mike Ps not an advert. I am fully booked for residential training until Sept at least.
  7. Pm replied too. I only have black pups at the moment, although both parents do carry choc and we did expect some chocs in the litter. I will be having a choc litter once my choc bitch comes in to season! (To my black dog) All my dogs are fully health tested, hips, elbows, eyes, optigen, Cnm. Thanks again WGD. Mike
  8. And the police do not do customs and excise. Customs officers do.
  9. When I looked at the picture, I thought, I know where that is! Does "A" know someone else is using his ground -then realised it is you! good luck mate. (Let us know when you're coming over or when you fancy a day out with the .50s) Mike
  10. I've got a complete Browning medalist 20g for sale - not fired more than 250 shells from new - it is spotless £500
  11. I'll sort you some out today.
  12. And it is ill guided posts like this that make the situation worse. Take the earlier advice and not this one!
  13. I took in a Lurcher dog just before Christmas that was found stray. He is a rough coated big dog - looks like Deerhound x - he takes fur day and night and will live in or out. He is a cracking dog that now needs a new home - I don't want anything for him as he is in reality a stray - but a donation to H4H would be appreciated as we have housed him for 6 months or so now. Whatever donation you leave for him I will also match and pass on to H4H. He is currently at my kennels in Staffordshire. Before people start harping on, he is not chipped, the police, dog warden, RSPCA etc were informed at the time of him coming in and no owner has been forthcoming - so this lad is looking for a forever home. Regards Mike Ive turned down a couple of homes already for him - it needs to be a forever home - I've also had him returned once due to the guy NOT having permission to have a dog at his rented accommodation - so come on guys n gals, lets find him a forever home.
  14. You first step would be to join a gundog club - members have priority in the draw for runs. You will need to compete in Novice first and then "win" out of Novice - generally though a 1st-3rd place will put your dog through to the "opens" - FTW is not an official title, it is just added by owners to show that the dog has one a trial - no saying if it has won a novice or an open though. FTCH is an officially recognised title.
  15. TransK9 have started doing their cabins again - these will last longer than you or I! Mike
  16. It was built by them, it is a boxlock non-ejector with rose and scroll engraving and sweet timber! - shoots really nice. 2.5in chambers and nitro proofed. Mike
  17. You are like your dogs though - selective deafness!
  18. Can't help with the cartridges, but I have a very nice Hardy Bros SxS 12g shotgun Mike
  19. Offas Dyke shoot at Kingsbury twice a month (Or will be again from March) - so that is on your doorstep and out to 600m Calton moor tunnel range - pay and play, just outside Ashbourne - £10 an hour.
  20. Good god you get everywhere! Guys, I can highly recommend Andrew, he is a cracking guy and the day is well run and organised. Well worth the time and effort Mike
  21. Whilst you do not currently have slots to purchase the firearms - you still have the purchase/hold authority for the ammo - just list what you have. Mike
  22. Sorry to blow your theory out of the water - but Crows do NOT nest in chimneys (or holes) - that will be Jackdaws.
  23. I think you are still living in the 1950s - since we reload with Vit powders, (amongst others) using monolithic bullets - the round is no dirtier than your 223 rounds. Compensate for something? - that would come from the enjoyment of engaging targets out to 3000yds as opposed to sitting on a forum bitching about those who can.............Jealousy springs to mind. Whilst the , 408, 416 and 460 are great calibres, getting ammunition and or reloading components is like digging for gold................. The 338LM is a good choice as ammunition and components are now readily available, alas no tracer though, for a field firing range you are really going to need tracer to confirm your point of aim in excess of a mile (1760yds) And not Misurp tracer either, decent handloaded tracer with similar ballistic performance to the rounds you are loading. I put an awful lot of time and effort in to my 50bmg reloads to achieve consistency at extreme long range. We are taking a team of 8-12 to the world championships in Raton 2014 and we intend to bring back some silverware.
  24. Depends how far passed 1k you want to go. I shoot a .50bmg out to 3k at Warcop or 1760yds at Sennybridge.
