  1. Took about 2 hours per round. Possibly more on the second course as there is more traffic. I messed up the red course on the second water rabbit. I the end I shot it before it hit the water lol. Then proceeded to miss the looper. *facepalm
  2. Shot it today first squad out on the black course. A lot of clever stands that catch you out with speed and angle rather than big gaps. Something there for everyone although overall I'd say it was a tad soft for a major shoot. More like two Sunday registered bolted together. Certainly more card fillers than previous years. Saying that I shot a 92 and a 93 so 185 which I'm fairly happy with. There were some veritable dustbin lids that escaped as always! If your heading down it's a very enjoyable shoot none the less! Shoot well all.
  3. I never said you were "moaning". I said if the car park was far away "people would moan". Last year my vehicle was hit by a battue and did serious damage to the bonnet. They said that cars are parked at own risk. I'm sure the same applies at most grounds. However the ground still gave me £200 to get it fixed. I have shot pretty much most of the big sporting grounds in the country over the last 6 years and this does happen quite alot on the quiet. I will agree that it's not very good. It is only a matter of time before a person gets very injured. Steve only set the targets I believe. The organisation was through the Cpsa. Get on to them as they would have established where was safe to park ect. Have you had any luck?
  4. The only one would be the midi trap on the telehandler throwing no birds. Then the bits landing on cars. Cant say for sure. Id like to see anyone try to set up 50 odd clay traps in a small area as not get a few clays going AWOL. If the car park was 500 yards away people would have moaned about that too. Even so parking anywhere near a telehandler with a trap 20 foot above it is a bad move. Not saying that's what you did. Hope it gets resolved.
  5. very well 175 ex 200. i found form at the right time. i also came joint fifth in the Fitasc. unfortunately we couldnt get onto the sportrap. just as well really as it looked hard as a dogs head.
  6. Shot it today and was very enjoyable. Had 91 on the black and missed some absolute sitters on the red and shot a 90. 181.. same as last time.... At least I'm staying consistent. Haha.
  7. I have no confidence in open chokes. I use 3/4 and full for everything. I'm not slating open chokes but it's more down to personal preference and where your head is at. If you think it won't work it won't, if you think one cartridge is noticeably faster than another then it is. Etc etc.
  8. What a cracker. I used to have one. Faultless but never fitted me. Real bargain
  9. Cheers buddy, though i forgot to mention its a trap forend im after. My lumberjack hands need the width.
  10. Upon my beloved grade 5 mk38s annual clean i noticed a crack in the forend. It was barely hanging on so have glued it back in place. Is it possible to obtain a new forend from somewhere? Or do i have to wait for one to crop up 2nd hand? I want to cry haha.
  11. Shot one briefly, 20 bore version. Shot okay but trigger pulls are awful. So much creep before going off. Not even close to crisp. Good budget gun though.
  12. Shooting the Sunday. 200 right through at 11:15
  13. Cheers for the advice, will leave it then! Just had a niggling thought was all.
  14. Hi guys I shoot sporting with an mk38 trap with 3/4 and full choke. I dont really struggle with closer targets but would it be worth it getting it opened up a bit? To say like half and half? Just thinking if im slightly off i might just crack the target in half etc. On the other hand i like seeing where ive broke a target at range, im worried with half choke the target will just break the first time and then miss even though the same forward allowance/line ect...... is applied. Does anyone else shoot competitions with this combination? Or should i just stick to what im confident with? Ive never had much faith in open chokes. Nor do i want multichokes as its more to think about. Cheers any help appreciated. ?
  15. If you are mounting the gun and having to move or lift your head up to see the rib then the gun does not fit you. The trick is to mount the gun normally with your eyes shut. If you then open them and you dont see some rib or off to the side then there is no point trying to continue shooting it without changing it.the gun should fit you, not fit yourself to The gun.
